Back to the topic itself. My personal favorites are the BLood ASP, Cauldron-Born and the Mad Cat MKII (with the Jumpjets removed to be able to add more weight/heat in weapons ) All have loads of space/weight for plenty of weapons, but can still manouver at decent enough speeds.

I personally like the chicken /Bridge designs better than any humanoid designs, because they make more sence to me in terms of low point of gravity/balance in combat.

I'd say depending on class and situation:

Light: Cougar (general field work) or Adder (anti-'mech/Solaris VII)
Medium: Storm Crow (would choose Shadow Cat, but it can't top 55 Tons ;p)
Heavy: (A tough choice, but IS gets this one with Black Knight...)
Assault:
-General Field Work: Deimos (6 Clan Ultra-AC 2's cut through armor like a buzzsaw!)
-Arena/Anti-'Mech: Dire Wolf (obviously)
-Sniper Support: Behemoth armed with a Clan Rail Gun, jump jets and enhanced optics!
