No. Seriously. Yes I know it has very little armor (yet this oversight is overlooked by the Warhammer fans, despite it being a shared flaw), and yes I know it has oddly redundant items loaded onto it. However, look at what that mech brings to the table in a computerized setting: Ridiculous long ranged firepower, impressive close to medium range firepower, ECM and BAP to hide from the enemy and choose when and where it will engage the target. Plus, it has pretty respectable speed, at 86.4 KPH stock which, in MWO, would be 95 KPH after speed tweak.
Dashing good looks can only help.

In MechWarrior 4 the Behemoth 2 (Marauder 2 as well) gets to equipe the most powerfull Mech weapon I have ever seen. The clan Railgun from MechWarrior 4 http://www.jadefalco...?title=Rail_Gun. 56 Damage, 10 heat, recycle time 10 (Not sure how that translates into seconds at the moment), range 1000m, tons 28, critical slots 7, ammo per ton 20.

Widowmaker:
2x ER PPCs
2x ER Large Pulse Lasers
3x ER Medium Lasers
1x ER Small Laser
1x Clan Ultra AC 20
56.03 kph
With core armor maxed out, and a nice black paint job. She ran fairly cool as long as I was careful about firing the PPCs and the pulse lasers. NOTHING could out-shoot her.
Rolling Thunder:
1x Heavy Gauss Rifle
2x Clan Ultra AC 10
2x Clan Ultra AC 2
51.06 kph
Again, core armor maxed. Shrunk the engine down and removed ALL the heatsinks to make room for the guns and three tons of extra ammo. Even with zero heatsinks, she ran cool. In a Solaris match, I've never lost (in multiplayer or singleplayer) if I ran with her.
I also prefer the Timber Wolf (Mad Cat) because of it's perfect balance of speed, armor, and tremendous firepower. My configuration was an improvement on the original, but I also ran with the Alternate Configuration "A."
Personal Config:
2x ER Large Pulse Lasers
2x Clan LRM 15s
1x Light AC2
81.02 kph
CT armor maxed. This was my "balanced" build. Fast, high DPS, and capable of reaching out and touching opponents at all ranges.
Alt. Config. A:
2x ER PPCs
3x ER Medium Pulse Lasers
1x ER Small Laser
2x Streak SRM 6s
81.02 kph
CT maxed armor. This one could CHEW through heavy armor and go toe-to-toe with most brawlers.
The Mad Cat Mk.II was... okay. The jump-jets were a nice addition, but I found that if you wanted to add jumpjets, you had to compromise it's firepower potential for extra tonnage to fit the jump jets. OR you could strip the armor, but that would make you little more then an oversize medium mech... so I rarely ran with it unless I felt like jump-sniping with it's standard load-out.

Pull the Jump Jets, XL the Engine, swap the Pulse or ERPPCs, add a third Gauss, 16 doubles and you have MY Stone Rhino. 75 damage, minimal heat, death comes for you at range!
I once killed 6 Omnis(mostly heavies and assaults) with a Stock Stone Rhino. You don't wanna see me in one of these beasts! I will ruin your Elo!

Dat Stone Rhino...
So... beautiful... e_e
I ran with a Marauder II that was armed with duel plasma cannons, and a heavy gauss.
She was hot, but if you managed your heat by being selective with what you shoot with, you'll melt 100 ton assault 'mech in about three volleys--if not a single alpha if you can land all the shots on the center torso.
