So I am a big fan of Artemis on my SRM mechs, I love the tighter concentration of fire you get. I have been playing an LRM boat for a while now and have had Artemis on it the whole time, so I don't have any thing to compare it to without paying to remove Artemis. I just read an old article from back in December stating you need direct line of sight for Artemis to work on LRMs and also ECM counters its effects. I do have a tag, but I'm wondering with all the restrcitions on Artemis if its really worth it, I could gain 3 slots and and 3 tons back if I remove it to increase my close range fighting abilities. Just curious on peoples thoughts.

Is Artemis Worth It For Lrm?

When I run LRMs, I like to make sure I'm getting the maximum performance out of them. Given their relatively high weight, rapid ammo expenditure, ease of evasion (aka, walk behind a building), susceptibility to ECM and minimum firing range, when my LRM barrage connects with its target I want it to hit like a freaking freight train. Unless I'm knocking 10-15% off an enemy's health per strike, it's not worth it (to me).
Check out this post by Thomas Dziegielewski in Command Chair on Artemis/TAG/NARC/BAP bonuses (key point: they stack).
If I'm using an LRM-heavy build, that sucker is packing Artemis, TAG, BAP, and an Adv. Sensor Module. Here's my current LRM Catapult build (just downgraded from LRM20 to LRM15 in favor of SRM6s over Streaks for close defense):

I would love to see a breakdown and comparison about the use of tag over narc and if there are any real benefits to using both. How effective are they on guided vs unguided systems? Artemis as I have read works like a shotgun choke for SRMs but what about with tag and narc?
