Hi, i have been playin MWO since closed beta and im not liking that every match i play is 100% guessing game this is due to that i have a 250 ping and have to leed my target 24/7 this has been making the game feel less and less fun now thats not the real big problem i have but its got to do with it. the big problem i have is that on my screen a target will be in my cross hair visually but will be somewhere else visually at the same time if some1 else is spectating me thus people on my team say my aim sucks which they are right and im ok with that but it sucks so bad not to be able to hit anyting, if i cant see them. now i can live with alittle leed for my 250 ping but visually i cant stand it anymore i need to see what im hittin because i trying to blow arms / toros ect [lights more then anything], and because i cant see where im shooting im all over the place and its blowing the game for me alot ive have waited and waited to see if it gets better but its not so im posting this, i have had lights and meds heavys and even a atlas or two where 1 minute there in my cross hair and the next thing my m8s on TS are saying more to the right or more to the lefted and its braking the game for me, im not trying to make the game look or sound bad i love MWO and i not tryin to plame or flame any1 because i do want to play and i will continue on playin even after this post for how long i cant say due to this problem.

im posting this because i am hoping that PGI and other players of this game will push towards improving the gameplay for people like me that have a high ping that wanna be able to play with friends around the world

(side note) they also do not take damage if i shoot where the visual target is thus leeding
and that drives me up the wall

(side note) sorry if the punctuation of this post sucks

Shagz :(

250 ping is hard to play with. State rewind, might help when it's deployed, but that raw amount of latency is never going to truely be fixed.

Eventually you learn how to 'lead' a target with aussie ping.

I got an idea. Try not living 50000000 miles from everyone else (that matters) in the world.

You can have this one bedroom **** hole. One good thing is it's in the ghetto, the internet is great, ghetto people don't have computers. Don't worry, you will get used to the gunshots. Just remember, if you can hear them, you are usually ok. It doesn't get scary till you feel them whizz by your head.

see this post effects every1 because see with the leeding it also effects other players that are on the same team thus making the gameplay less enjoyable for them aswell because MWO is team based game when u have some1 that has i high ping on your team. your team is more or less a mech down because that pilot is less effective as a result of the leed because u are guessing 100% of the time and if that player is not hitin the target then all they are is a target for the other team

I don't think the Australians can influence anything in the world let alone a video game.

Yeah, I'm not Australian but I know exactly what you're talking about, though my ping is a little bit lower... 175-250ms.

Hitting anything fast or mobile is a nightmare, it seems like we have to lead them by one full second, and that's just to account for the firing delay, not the projectile's travel time, which is all we're supposed to contend with by the game's design.

At times, it feels like I'm trying to predict the target's trajectory and make him run into my bullets and missiles.

Granted, most of them are stupid enough to do that, but the ones whom are a little bit smarter have about 0.2-1.0 second of advantage in any engagement; for reference, the fastest Light 'Mechs can fully reverse their trajectory in one second.
That is sufficient to throw off your aim at all times if you're shooting at them and they're willing to sacrifice their own accuracy and damage potential for damage evasion.

Don't try to hit your target where it currently stands; aim instead for its future position - this seems to work well enough for me.

Now, that said, this is the most trashy forum in a gaming community, so you shouldn't expect much sympathy from the regulars - the best advice I can offer is to avoid this place and keep playing.
After all, it takes immense amounts of practice to compensate for a target's changing trajectory, a firing delay and projectile speed simultaneously... And even at your best you will not be the equivalent of an equally skilled gamer on a better connection.

On the plus side, you get to enjoy particular satisfaction from tricky shots.
Alas, I don't think we'll get regional servers in MWO for a very long time - all we can do at this point is to hope that the implementation of state rewind as well as netcode and engine optimizations will make things easier for us in the future.
Good luck out there.
