oh yea i was grinding them all.. managed to clock in 57th.. not bad considering how i dawdled a bit, started late, slept, and bought 2 new mechs and worked them up..
I was really hopin to break 50 but alas i fell a bit short.. but i do have bragging rights on a buddy who did break 50 but fell off when he slept..
And i really didnt use cheese builds.. but that depends on what u classify the 2D streakmando.. did start pushin the muromet uac/5 triple grinder i fitted out tonight... that thing is quite a nasty beast.. but alot depends on ur luck of not jamming.

yeah not having them around to pugstomp steamroll ya was nice.. It was actually quite nice alot of the time.. and even a bit healthy for my KDR..
the syncr's did keep the 8-0 0-8''s around a bit too much tho. course some of that blame falls on the MM..

I came 27th in heavy - couldn't quite manage to charge my way into the top 25 at the last minute.

This tournament and ELO have demonstrated in my mind why we need a solo only que. I had some of the consistently best matches this weekend, in terms of fun, friendliness, and skilled competitiveness, of any since I started playing the game last July. Proof that a "team" game doesn't require all the team mates to be pregrouped beforehand or using voice comms to still work effectively as a team, and that a random lotto drop style that constantly mixes up good players and friends on both teams is healthy and great fun.
By solo dropping with new people you learn things you wouldn't learn if you only ever drop with the same old 4, 8 or 12 people on your friend's list or clan. By the end of this weeked, I had become familiar with a lot of the names in my ELO bracket, all good and skilled chaps. Whether they were on my side or the opposing one, I knew we'd have a good game ahead of us.
