Halo and Call of Duty are observed by viewing what the player views in the first person. Makes your head spin. Starcraft II and League of Legends both have observer modes and commentators can freely view any portion of the battlefield at a more viewer-friendly pace. This sort of viewing, combined with knowledgeable commentators, makes for a very entertaining experience.
I suggest that some form of observer mode be implemented as soon as it is reasonable. eSports is a concept that is rapidly gaining traction, and facilitating MWO's entry into that arena can only be good for the game!

53 mechs on a team
Game Field Mech Bays only hold 46 per team.
Only eleven mechs on the field per team at a time
Team can have a Max of:
5 Assaults
11 Heavies
21 Mediums
16 Lights
Team can have lighter weight classes for a heaver slot, aka the drop 1 Assault to have 12 heavies
The Ball, Elemental Suit with Two Power Claws and Jumpjets (& One Man on death row in it) if he can survivie 7 Touchdowns he can get off)
Due the non-military use the following Equipment is for use:
All Mech Must have Fission, Fuel Cell, or I.C.E. Engines
All Mech Must have Full Industrial Armor (16pt per ton X 0.67 = Round Down to whole number)
All Mech Must Standard Industrial Internals (AKA 20% of the mechs weight)
All Mech Must have Heavy Gyros
Single Effect Heat sinks only
Hand to Hand or Ammo based weapons only

You are a funny thinker, I like that. Too many would only scoff at your idea. I may scoff, yet I ponder the fun it would be to play.LOL

People sit around and watch other people play the game they want to play...on purpose?
*having a flashback to when I was 16 and sat at my friend's house watching him struggle through the TSR Gold box series*

but unstable effects/units/tactics for the sake of uniformity so that the game could be used
as a 'sport.' Then with eSports comes players stripping away any enjoyment of the story for
the pure use of numbers - unit stats, weapon stats, actions per minute. Many players enjoy
this yes; but it should have been a game mode, a 'competition mode' so to speak and normal
SC2 multiplayer be something different

i want nothing to do with it, and most likely I will be too busy playing to bother watching.
(just make sure the devs get a piece of the prize pool for beer money).

Why do people watch e-sports? People like to watch people play games. They watch for a number of reasons. Some watch to learn, some watch for the enjoyment and some to cheer on their team, person or friend. It's not strange or anything new. Think about it for a second, people do it all the time. Baseball, basketball and football are all games that are physical sports that people watch. This game and the people that play it would benefit from it. Because it keep the game up to date with adjustments that may be need for balance and players get to show their skills off. As a company you dream of millions of people enjoying your game and spreading that joy to others.
This game does not have to join MLG, it could join any number of other organizations or form their own.
Overall, I feel that if this game became an e-sport. It would be an amazing experience.
