Bad players ARE easy to kill. But not even a max speed Raven or Jenner should be able to stay behind a decent 3F.

There's not a mech in the game that can't maneuver people in front of them.. except maybe a small-engine Atlas. Reverse and turn, reverse and turn the other way.... I've NEVER had a target behind me I couldn't get at. Unless I'm actively ignoring them for a larger threat in front.

Pretty Baby 400XL

I've been playing low heat, low alpha, high sustain DPS builds with good movement lately to improve my piloting. I just can't pop and Alpha something with the builds I've been running since I picked up some Dragons, but it kind of works. Torso twist, moving, awareness are all important and I can't just two shot anything with it. It's very fun though and it's very rare that I see the XL engine as a disadvantage because I can spread the damage evenly over my mech unless I derp and get stuck on some terrain.

I'm trying it now with an extra SRM4 but not sure since it does overheats quite a bit since I traded in 2 DHS for it.

4 pulse med on a Cic CDA-3M (13 DHS), you can kinda figure out the rest on your own. It has to cut through all the raven hitbox oddities.

I mostly used my Fatlas, because I was more interested in the 50/50 event. I am not playing enough and can't afford anything nice.

2 Artemis SRM6 (Weapon Group 3)
2 Medium Lasers (Weapon Group 2)
2 Large Lasers (Weapon Group 1)
16 Double Heat Sinks
300 STD Engine

Manageable heat, though I still often make the mistake of using the LLs when I should use the MLs.

It brought me to place 779 on the Assault Board with a score of 39 and 17 Wins vs 21 Losses. So not really great.

Srsly GET OUT! You didn't even answer the topic so I suppose you can't contribute to this thread because you didn't play and we don't need your [redacted] opinion on this matter because you have no clue what you're talking about.

I saw almost everybody on the leaderboards while playing, unless they were playing conquest only. Some games were filled up with half of the leaderboard on the one side and the other half in the other team.

There was no crying about ecm lrms 3l splattcats cheesebuilds or whatever....fun times! As it should be!

I ran a Ilya 3M-L 2 Gauss and a 3D 2PPC+Gauss. (Heavy 6th)

I have my FAtlas set up similar but gave it Gauss for that all ranges, heat free, thump. no mediums though I gave it more ammo. I'll try your tweaks though, more pew pew is always better!

Only played the D when I needed a morale boost as it's truly fun to play. An XL'd atlas ain't the smartest build in the world, but I do pretty good with it regardless.

Started out on my CDA-3M with a PPC and 3 medium lasers. Then I unlocked the CDA-3C and dropped in an XL290 and two AC/2s and a large laser. Probably doing it all wrong but I had a winning ratio and it was SO MUCH FUN! :DDD

I run a Stalker 3F with 4 PPCs, 4 SSRM2s

Runs a little warm, but I can chain fire the PPCs when lights get in tight and disrupt their ECM (if they have it) and the 4 streaks make them reconsider their desire to stick so close.

Plus it's glorious when they turn to retreat, hit 91m out and take 4 PPCs to the arse follower by 8 SRMs.

NOTE: several times I considered changed the Cicada to ER PPC + 3 Md Pulse Lasers. The 2x Lg Lasers are great for sustained, pinpoint DPS at medium range, but I found a number of engagements I wish I had more reach, and of course the Pulse lasers would have been been a huge benefit against the Raven swarms with their shorter fire duration. However I didn't want to start a trial and error tweaking session in the middle of the tournament, especially with a mech I considered 'reliable'.
