I saw one the other day that was mostly white with green and gold trim. I really liked that one.
But, to be fair, canon units weren't usually green. By way of example, the Capellan Hussars were traditionally red, black, and gold.

Doing the best I could with limitted resources, this is what I have in my garage (only PC Gamer and basic green used):
Centurion of House Imarra
Cataphract of House Imarra
And a Trebuchet of honorable Red Lancers
Simple, but almost anyone can do it and represent House Liao. Of course you could add in that great pallete of greens and what not and create the whole CCAF, but for simple representation, this is pretty sufficient.

It'd be near impossible to get everyone to use a uniform paint scheme. This is why I think having a green triangle House decal we can use on our battlemechs would be far more valuable.
