Hi all. I just started playing this game today. Managed to make it into my first match and noticed things didn't look quite right. I couldn't really see anything. Ground, walls, mechs, nothing. All I was getting was a weird shadowy outline of everything, which didn't help when items overlapped. Some background image was vaguely visible in some of the shadows, but again, not helpful in a fight and definately not how it was supposed to look. Looking in the Mechlab, I still can't see my own mech, it's just a misty, shadowy outline.

Curently running:
Windows 7 64bit
Processor: AMD FX-6100 6-core 3.3GHz
Vid: Radeon HD 7850
16GB DDR3 RAM

As far as I know of, everything is up to date. If more information is needed, please respond and I'll try and dig it up. Thanks for your time and efforts.

I had this exact same problem. Go into your Catalyst Control Center(Right Click), and click on the Gaming tab, then on the 3D Application Settings tab. Once your there, click on each option and make sure that all of your options are set to "Use application settings" in the drop down menu. There are a few options that dont show "Use application settings", so just leave those as they were. Click apply, then try MWO. If it doesnt work for whatever reason, restart computer and launch MWO again. If that doesnt work either, play with those 3D application settings, since it is definitely those that cause this weird glitch. Hope I helped.

Ocilfa, you are awesome. Tried it (after hitting advanced view for the control center) and it worked. Now maybe I won't die to random pieces of shadow. Thank you.

glad you got it fixed.. common error.. no idea why the drivers sometimes default to something other than use application settings
