If you choose not to support Paypal ( :) ) and I have to use a credit card, PLEASE do NOT store credit card information. Just use it for a 1-time payment authentication and don't store it into a database.

Thanks.

I don't think there's much to worry about. This company is obviously run by computer geeks, they won't want the liability, because they're planning to have a huge userbase, and credit card info is just a huge headache. They know they'll be hacked. The NSA, Pentagon and White Sands have all been hacked. Amazon has been hacked. State governments are regularly hacked. Everybody gets hacked, and nobody is hack proof.

Consequently, the best safeguard for the user's credit card info is not to keep it in the first place.

So, in order to keep small payments going below the "I can't spend that" threshold, they'll implement some kind of in-game currency. Something that can't be used anywhere else, and is easy to adjust in case of other, mundane problems. Something you buy in blocks, and replenish. Like the C-bill system.

And you just use an outside payment handler, since you're going to pay a bank the credit card rake-off percentage anyway, just get a professional payments handler to take care of the CC numbers. I doubt that MWO will ever see credit card numbers. I sure as heck wouldn't.

That's a good idea! :) Personally, I would prefer there to be (at least) support via Paypal. It's such a simple system. And I wouldn't mine even paying the 3% or so transaction fee on top of it.

If you want to transfer me a $100.00 via PayPal I'll use my credit card to buy your Founder's Package for you. A small price to pay to protect your personal information. :) heheheheh

Anything to reduce the risk of being hacked and having all my details stolen in the same vein as PS3 Home Network, or other high profile hacks of companies storing personal information and credit cards on unhashed, unsalted, plain text on their database would indeed be a boon! :)

Well, if they do have a Pay Pal option, I would hope there are more ways to pay than just Pay Pal. Some people really don't like Pay Pal for a multitude of reasons (which I will not go into), and prefer to use an alternative whenever possible.

Well, i think about to sell my skin to the capellans if they offer good merc contracts...what threat shall make me falter after i am that insane?

Beside PayPal i have a Click & Buy Account but i feel them be worse than PayPal.
I dont pay per phone, i wont give out my CreditCard info easily, and bank transfer is probably not usable in time.
They could sell C-Bill-Vouchers/Mechwarrior-Credits at Stores.

If only I could remember my paypal password... I could live without credit card support :) Anyway, I second the Aegis's suggestion!

I hope they sell game cards in stores,I know , I know but I want something to have to show off, collect.
They could have different Mechs on them each with a different price . It would be so geekishly cool.

And therin lies my problem. Yeah I know I can simply do all the hoops and leaps to get me a new password. I just do not like paypal after the whole ebay merge.

I'd rather do 1 time transactions, or use gametime cards, that way I can stay with my old familiar cash that I seem to rely on more and more now that checks are simply not allowed anywhere. However Gamecards require a 2nd cashtype to be implemented other than c-bills if those points would be allowable to any kind of store transaction.

I'm pretty sure they'd have an option to select if you wished them to retain/remember payment details

I have an old Paypal I rarely use but please let me do one time Credit Card purchases without storing the info! +1
If I buy converted game money with it so be it then I can buy stuff from the store when I want with game money charged and ready.
