Ventilation! No matter how much skill you have, or how fat you are or how hairy your neck is or how long you've been living in your parents' basement, you need to use ventilation. Ventilation, not wishful thinking!
So if you are sitting in your parents' basement with a plastic bag full of airplane glue under your nose, and you start seeing weird spots and feeling dizzy don't go posting on the internet, open a window!

if your stuck in the middle of nowhere and are running low on petrol, you can pee into the gas tank and dilute the petrol just enough to stretch out your fuel usage to run longer. (there is a reason why the pump hose is hung the same way and roughly the same width as an average wang.)
please note this works much better in hotter desert like conditions. due to the warmer ambient conditions, your pee and petrol dilution will be more combustible then in lower temperature climates.

But to solve the main problem of extremely high burst damage and badly cooled stock mechs, they need to implement the popular suggestion of drastically increasing the dissipation rate and lowering the shutdown threshold.

The problem isn't their stance, the problem is the absolute bullshart workaround they left in. Engine sinks still dissipate 2.0 each. So, a 250 engine and elite skills make them all just about 2.0. If 2.0 was overpowered, then why do we still have it? If it was so deadly, why is it simply hidden under a grind mechanic and engine size?
I agree with the poster. Give Cool Run some other effect, and admit that 2.0 really isn't game breaking. People are still just going to alpha until they blow up anyway, because they can shoot three times as often as the heat system was originally designed to counter.

A piece of wisdom buried in a thread where you'd least expect it.
