I'm excitedly waiting for the Training Grounds map they said would be in the game next month.

Wow, I hope this is true. Could use the practise without the stress.

Yeah that and I can use it to entice my more casual friends to at least try out the game.

I would be happy if the next patch was mostly bug fixes. Still a few that affect me and all are documented in the 'known issues' forum so they should be aware of them. Fixing issue > new content.

Actually, the last Aske the Devs brought a lot of answers, other things are even longer confirmed:

5th: Unknown heromech, cockpit items

19th: Jagermech, desert map

Unknown date in march: heromech repaint

Thats what is known atm. March developer update should tell everything, probably march 4th. :)

you don't know that any better than we do otherwise. for all you know they've been hiding a big surprise clan launch.(not saying i really believe that just making a point)

You're right I don't "know" but my deductive reasoning skills have led me to believe that we will be getting absolutely nothing in regards to clans IN GAME before april.

LOL. Is there an Atlas in the novels that stand out?

Warlord Grieg Samsonov's Atlas. He was killed back in 3030 but someone can probably restore his mech.

Quote

Samsanov was a noted Atlas pilot, and used a personally modified version of that mech during the Galtor Campaign.

Though it is pretty similar to AS7-RS.

I know, but I really do want AS7-D "Danielle"
It's not even an OP layout, since I doubt you could be worse with 6 arm lasers than 4 on something that can already mount 4 arm LargeLas. Possibly some competition to the 6xPPC stalker, but at 100tons and with convergence issues, lower weapons, and a worse frontal profile?

6 Medium Lasers, one AC/20 or Gauss Rifle, and the heaviest SRM or LRM you can find, together with the larges tengine that can fit he Atlas?

NOt sure how well it works out weight-wise, I know that the Awesome with 8 Mediums runs into "underweight" problems quickly due to engine restrictions and similar factors.

And failing that - you can still build a Hexa-PPC Atlas that has 20 tons more for heat sinks than the Stalker has. (Well, not really, because internals get heavier, crit slots will pose a problem...) We'll see.

(Basically, this build, but 2 more medium Lasers: AS7-RS - Danielle Prototype: Alpha Strike 65, sustainable DPS of 13 for 6 seconds or so... basically 2 alphas.)

I can't find the dev quote, but I remember reading a statement that March would be a big month for new users. Training grounds seems the be what they were referring to, maybe an in game tutorial as well?

According to Sarna: AS7-WGS Atlas Samsonov - The personal ‘Mech of Galedon Military District commander Warlord Grieg Samsonov during the DCMS's Third Succession War invasion of Galtor III, only the massive autocannon remains, with the rest of the standard weaponry replaced with a PPC mounted in each arm. The remaining weight and space is devoted to six additional heat sinks. BV (2.0) = 1,884[29]
