I just came from a match where, without exaggerating, 3 people all claimed they have no missiles for their new launchers. They said they loaded ammo. But then they named the wrong ammo for the missile launchers they said they had.

So.... Uh... Yeah. This may need to be said.

For LRMs (Long Range Missiles; homing)

Use LRM Ammo

For SRMs (Short Range Missiles)

Use SRM Ammo

For Streak SRM (Streak Short Range Missiles; homing)

Use Streak SRM Ammo

For MRM (Medium Range Missiles) [Unrelased]

Use MRM Ammo

For Rocket Launcher (Single use) [Unreleased]

There is no ammo, it comes with the weapon.

Note: Unlike ballistics, there are no SRM-4, SRM-2, SRM-6 "ammo." Simply use "SRM Ammo." Same goes for all missiles.

However, LRM for LRM, SRM for SRM, Streak for Streak, MRM for MRM, and nothing for Rocket Launchers. Got it? Good.

Thank you.

would be nice, when the mechlab shows only ammo for installed weapons, so if you have no SRM installed, it doesn't show SRM ammo or AC 10 or what ever. just ammo for weapons that are allready on the mech...

problem solved ?!

of course i am joking and have plenty of both with me.

The problem is the mechlab, if you ask me. There is no "summary" of ammo, just what weapons, engine, and heatsinks you have installed (and AMS and ECM and CASE, if you can immagine) but no ammo counts. That means you have to go location by location and -verify- what ammo you have.

I really can't wait for Mech Lab 2.0 to come along, and it better be a lot like the website smurfy has that you make builds at. THAT is a brilliant interface that has ALL the info you need at your fingertips.. I can't tell you how many times I accidently dragged AC/2 ammo over to an AC/20 boat, but that -summary- lets me know I messed up instantly.. and having full visibility to ALL aspects of the mech all at once on one screen, infinately better than the crap we have in game.

EDIT: An the idea above to limit the list to ammo that matches weapons on the mech, brilliant! And obviously able to be done since they filter engines and weapons based on hardpoints you're looking at. Huge oversight on their part to let you load ammo for weapons you don't even have on that mech.

Oh, this wasn't the 2.0? Ouch. They need to hurry up with it.

Far as cannons and such, you're on your own or someone else can write it out.

I sure HOPE it wasn't 2.0.. because, just adding in info that should have been there from the start.. that's not a "new design or added features", that's just finally finishing what you already had.. :P

I agree that the mechlab could use some refinement. I have not read any patch notes stating "welcome to mechlab 2.0" so I assume that we are still using 1.x and can look forward to 2.0 sometime in the future.

After I think I have finished a modification in the mechlab, I manually click through each mech component several times to make sure everything is in order. I often make mistakes and so far I have caught them before dropping every time.

Heck if I had my way, I'd replace the mechlab with the mechlab in smurfy-net.de. I don't need a fancy graphical representation of my mechs.

So I admit I dropped once without the correct ammo. I had just bought my first mech, modded it out to be all sorts of spiffy...and forgot to add the ammo for my streaks. So I go into the drop all excited to get 500bazillion kills...... :D no ammo for my missles

I think everyone has done that at least once. The mech lab is very unintuitive I could see it being a real problem for some players. the reason I came to the forums was to find out how and which mechs can equip ecm's. They also need to add weapon stats summeries and make changes auto save until you leave then ask you if you want to keep the final build.

Well, no.. I have 19 mechs at present, and I switch weapons/engines/ammo/heatsinks out between them at various times. I've never been on the field without proper ammo. Why? Because -I know- the mechlab is crap, so I take the time to make a "final pass" of every single slot on my mech and make sure everything is present according to the build I made with http://mwo.smurfy-net.de/mechlab .. Sure, it takes an extra minute or 1.5 minutes, but it's better than leaving a team a man short or not being able to do the damage you built the mech to do.

Attention to detail. Being thorough. These are how you avoid having to gimp a team.

I'll admit to accidently taking streak srm ammo instead of regular on more than one occasion.
