Way Better Concept Inside (For Newbies)

I was thinking about the game, and ways PGI can make it better for player retention. I was also thinking of the best FPS currently out there, COD. So I came up with some ideas to enhance the player experience using liek features!

1. Have rewards for kill streaks
-Stuff like see everyone, maybe starship strike, bubble shields

2. Have unlockable attachments for weapons. Not things that make them better, but stuff like different reticals, different zooms, silencer stuff like that. Maybe even just surface stuff like lazer color.

3. Show damage being done! Will help so many people. ALSO on mech map show how much points of HP each piece has. This will encourage more strategic shooting and enhance the decision making required by the player. making it a "Strategic" Fps.

OH if you guys got ideas for kill streak bonuses. LIST THEM HERE

I like: Swarm - A swarm of spiders flies across the map dealing (lightish) damage to enemies in deployed area. maybe like a 2 kills streak.

ps killstreaks will be way cooler with 12v12 and dropships.

I think having a "Hints" option would be great, so you can see the damage and understand the mechanics of the game. I'm thinking like a first person MMO where you see damage being done to you as well as to your enemy.

I disagree with the kill streak rewards though. It's only 8vs 8. Maybe if you could respawn it would be cool. I'm hoping for a deathmatch game mode sometime soon.

For sure. I think this would draw more people to the community and make PGI more money to produce better content!

It worked for COD we can make this THAT popular. WOuld be amazing!

Okay, I got to "silencer" and then blood came out of my nose. I even made it past the "damage numbers above head" part and still wasn't bleeding; seen that one before. But silencer. On a giant war robot that is the size of a building.

I like the idea of some kind of feedback that tells you the location where you just did damage. I don't normally look at the target data in the upper right while fighting (my Monitor is a 40 inch TV) so some kind of scrolling text would be nice.

Tilt your head back and pinch the bridge of your nose. Try not to choke on the blood. Seek medical attention if bleeding continues. Are you alone in the house right now? If so, seek help immediately.

Maybe have option to display this stuff, so if you want it to be more simulator you can, but also have way to draw new people in who wouldent play otherwise.

I think (and I could be wrong) that a lot of players play MWO to get away from the Halo-archetypal games, like COD.

I wouldn't mind rewards for achievements, provided that they were vanity only, and entirely relevant to MWO.

Not sure how showing the damage done would impact the game. Yes, I would like to know if those missiles hit home or not, just not sure if it will unbalance the game, or give certain weapons an edge they weren't meant to have. So, not sure about that one.

If they implemented kill streak notifications I would be one of the players constantly asking for a way to turn that **** off.

I had to log in just to say: No. Please no. If I wanted to play CoD, I would play CoD. That being said, we will get air and arty strikes as consumable modules soon enough. Maybe some Arrow IV action.

Big no to kill streaks.


Maybe slightly different lasor colors when we get the different manufacturers.


The customisable reticule might not be a bad idea.

I like new ideas, and thanks for offering suggestions, but... this is Mechwarrior. I'd like to keep it that way.

Seem's like a CoD and Crysis cop out of the Game... that or some sorry troll attempt...

Btw killstreaks would only work if we had respawn options... otherwise god forbid a 3L Raven kill stealing for the bonus to just orbital bombard the last target alive for no reason...

My initial reaction was that it was a clearly joking post and I chuckled a little, but some of the ideas were borderline serious so I do wonder if he was serious or not. Nah, had to be a joke. Come on shield bubbles and spider swarms.

The trouble around here is that there are enough actual glueheads for this to have a sheen of verisimilitude. I find the forums use a "shoot first ask questions later" policy with these types of threads just to be safe. Serious(ly crazy) post? Snipe it. Trollpost? Same, snipe it.

Nuke it from orbit. Only way to be sure.

I may type some stupid sh|t on these forums that the community doesn't agree with; like respawns, repair bays, and other mechanics that Die-hard fans dislike with a MechWarrior 4: Vengeance.

But killstreaks?

That's where I draw the line, why should the guy that gets "parting shot" be able to run around with basically a POWER-UP in their hands while the guys who actually worked for it get next to nothing. PGI screwed up with not making 'Kills' and 'Assists' worth the same, and we don't need another reason for people to cry "Kill Stealer" all day long.
