Today I was piloting my Spider 5D and I got behind a Raven 3L who was a pretty terrible pilot. I was behind him at maybe a 30 degree angle to his right, from dead center back, when his streaks began hitting me.
I give up PGI. I did what I was supposed to do. I maneuvered behind him. I countered his ECM. I shot him in the back with 19dmg worth of lasers, only to watch the damage spray wildly over 4 components. He still shot me for 20 damage worth of streaks in my torsos with his magical missiles that left his tubes and turned behind him to shoot a 151kph mech that was less than 90m behind him. And then he shot me again, and again with streaks.
In another game, on my lrm stalker with tag, I was tagging people, locking and firing, and the target decay module didn't help at all because they could break locks well before the missiles were even halfway there. Combined with the ECM umbrella they were sitting under, it made landing lrms impossible. More or less means using any kind of lrms on my stalker in this bracket is useless. I can deal with it by reconfiguring my mech to be a 5 or 6 ppc stalker like two of the guys on the other team I guess. This was a higher bracket than my spiders, so I expect people to be a bit more skilled, but what I'm saying here is that the modules, in this case advanced target decay, which cost about 12,500 gxp and 6,000,000 cbills, are quite terrible.
360 degree targettng and advanced targeting decay. You guys did some stellar testing on those. I'm quivering with anticipation to see what brilliance comes next.
