Mech could mean anything on legs, regardless of number or shape. Example: an ATAT form star wars IS A MECH! And I hate call of duty.

I hear ya mate. Unfortunately, with the year effectively being 3049/3050, most of the mechs come from the 3025 era. Most of them were humanoid. Sadly some of the cooler looking mechs were the unseen. A few have been reseen, but have not been unveiled by PGI as upcoming mechs. Quad mechs won't make it in the game in the forseeable future either, so no Scorpions or Goliaths. Which basically leaves the teched down re-teched back up 2750 mechs, like the Crab/King Crab (Merky Merc), the Thug (Spetsnaz Quarian), and a few others. Otherwise most of the 3025 mechs look like mechs made with simple Lego blocks. All the other chicken legs are unseen like the Marauder and Locust (actually I think these two plus the Catapult were the only chicken legged mechs). Or the ball torso and legs like the Ostscout, Ostsol and Ostroc are also unseen. Part of is due to the lore/background. Mech balance and some operation was via a neural helmet and well it was easier for a pilot to identify with a humanoid looking mech because well...humans are humanoid, lol.

Most of the Clan mechs are only vaguely humanoid. They have maybe four tops that have anything resembling a man in an armor suit and two of those are terribad assaults. The other two being the Summoner and Hellbringer and even those have distinctly non-humanoid arms.
Humanoid:
Summoner
Hellbringer
Executioner
Gargoyle
Sort of humanoid:
Fire Moth (square body and arms above the body)
Stormcrow (Not really, again the head is well below the shoulders, digitigrade legs etc)
Completely non-humanoid
Kit Fox
Adder
Nova
Viper
Timber Wolf
Mad Dog
Warhawk
Dire Wolf
I would be very happy if they stuck to the more popular Omnis at least early.
Maybe first 4 being Adder, Nova, Timber Wolf, Dire Wolf, then Kit Fox, Stormcrow, Hellbringer, Warhawk.

Now, of the mechs not yet implemented or announced, cross off those with less than 3 canon variants in 3050. Remove any quads, because they are just too darn hard to implement. Now, tell me how many non-humanoids are left?

I agree, I just really hope the dire wolf doesnt get nerfed because of its ability to mount dual clan UAC20's (at least in earlier games), or its rediculous armor.

Volvo works too, they probably went with them as well. But I can't call them all safe. Either overheat like microwave oven or paper thin armor (Hellbringer/Loki). And most sucked at close in fighting, but wide open areas, their improved range over the I.S. is what devastated the I.S. Then the I.S. got smart. Clans: Vast cosmic technology...itty bitty adaptability (said Robin Willams voice). And that's why the I.S eventually won.

I would cut off my left leg to pilot a Marauder in here. I'm a sucker for 75 tonners, 2 PPCS, UAC5, 2 ML sounds evil, and I love the look. All in all the left leg thing might not be that big of a payment. I wouldn't be getting up any time soon.

I really do think the cats sand stalkers look at like and often think a stalker is a catapault at first glance.
