Even with the split of the community, I hope that EU servers are comming soon...

I don't wanna brag, but I have played FPS shooters for 15 years now and I love playing them.

I "wasted" hours and hours, perfecting my aim and refexes and such, but with my ms (180+) from germany and the weapon impulse its very, very hard to hit fast moving targets.

I my "view" of the game, I see the impact of my SRMs and AC20s, but no damage registered. I concluded, that ECM is maybe no the problem for low pingers, because there hits on fast moving targets are actually registerd.

If someone moves downsides on a hill, its near impossible for me to hit him, not because I couldn't hit the 3D model, but the hits just don't register. I can try to predict his actual "real" position, but as I saw yesterday I could not even hit an Atlas that was "moving / falling / gliching" in that way.

This problem is affecting my playstyle by a hugh margine, I always fire on slower targets first, because I know that the hits will registered.

Servers – EU :

Seth: Could you clarify the answer last week concerning the split of US and UK players on different servers? I ask because a number of units have members from all around the world and it would be rough if we couldn't interact with them in the game.
A: For most regions, players will get to choose which servers to play on. So if you have a friend in the UK that want to play with US players, they can log into NA servers. This holds true for NA players, who can log into EU servers and play with friends there. Final details are still evolving, so this information is subject to change.

WolvesX: Is a server split really necessary, could there not be just the option, before a match where to play (EU / NA) and the community could stay together (Worldwide ComWar, Units)?
A: To offer the best possible play experience and customer support for each region, yes we believe regional servers are the best choice. For most regions, players will still have the option to play on any server.

What I don't get though is: Why can't we have a "shared" galaxy map? So to say a cross server galaxy map for all regional servers that may come.

You only fight and play on your "regional" server, but the battles are all counted for the "world wide" galaxy map.

Can someone explain please why this shouldn't work or is so difficult to do? Its just a honest question, I don't mean that in a negative or harmfull way towards PGI!

"Play on EU server or NA server, all matches count in the MWO map" - Thats the idea.

I would like PGI to make an official statment when they will add EU servers. I live in america but would not play this game if i had to land pulse lasers with 300 ping. I think this will remain a low priority though with the player base, but after the contest over the weekend I am now starting to get a feeling we might be growing.

Quite simply, the regional server farms should only do one thing, host matches.

There is absolutely no reason for the accounts to be limited to one specific region.

Higher ping is not an issue while I browse my mechbay, nor when I spend my mech / pilot xp.

Just add an option when you queue, or even in the options screen, stating which region you want to play a match in.

Thats the thing, but I really would app. it if "someone" who knows could explain why this isn't possible?

Don't realy care very much as long as my ping (normaly 60-90 ms) doesn't go to high to accomidate others which have a high ping now.

The only time I can see limiting the account to region in a lobby-based game is if it is published by different companies in different regions.

As a result they may run different offers, use different currency, different support channels, etc.

It's not impossible. DOTA 2 and Path of Exile do that already.

I think it's not a technical reason but a legal / business one. PGI seems unwilling to take on hosting and support - mind the many different languages spoken in Europe!
So, they'll probably intend let some other company run MW:O in EU. This could mean different monetization models, patch cycles etc.
That may be the best course of action for a small company like PGI, but it's definitely the worst for us, the players.

I'm not sure what to say, though I find this conversation interesting. I tend to be the guy with the lowest ping on most of my matches, or near the lowest, and I still don't understand it. Does that mean I'm landing more shots? Or is the guy with the high ping just as hard for me to hit as the guy with a similar, low ping? I honestly can't figure out if I'm landing shots at all, and have to guess by looking at the damage at the end of the game if I've landed most of my shots or not. Certainly, it takes a lot more work to bring down lights than any other sized mechs no matter which mech I'm using to shoot. I don't mean to start up a conversation about it here, but I'm guessing I'm not alone in my lack of understanding this issue, and so I'm not sure whether to support one BIG world with people fighting the fights on regional servers or not.

I would venture to guess that this conversation's conclusions would be contingent upon how community warfare works, and how matchmaking will work. What if a Greek player takes a planet that I want to fight for with my Hawaiian brothers? Will I EVER be able to attack that planet if we're on different regional servers? An answer to this question would make a significant difference in how I would answer whether or not I'd support ONE giant Inner Sphere map versus regional versions of them.

Also, what if the Greeks notice the Australians are losing all of the Skye March to the Capellans? But because the Skye March planets are all assigned to the Australasian server...? (I know, the Australians wouldn't let the Skye March fall - a pre-emptive chill out here. We're ALL godly players!)

I sure hope they won't split the community by limiting us to playing on either US or EU servers. I saw this happen in Heroes of Newerth, where they licensed the game to Garerna for SEA and CIS, and later brazil. Fortunately, they at least let NA and EU continue to play on the same servers.

No split. Move the server to EU because this is where most of the players are. Listen to Americans crying about them getting non-optimal ping and demanding regional servers. The end!

Don't think that will happen, also I don't want other players to have a serious disadvantage.
