With the implementation of the Testing Grounds, there is NO need to fire your weapons 5 seconds after dropping and inadvertantly damaging your own teammates. Go to the Testing Grounds to test your heat levels and set your weapon groups. Before the Testing Grounds when you damaged a fellow team member by fire weapons seconds after launching, you were just a horrible teammate who was completely unaware of your surroundings... Now if you damage a team member seconds after launch, you are even worse than that...

Unfortunately, a lot of the friendly fire is still caused by alt-tabbing out and back into the game. The testing grounds don't address that.

I alt-tab out of the game a lot and have never fired because of it. Just alt-tab back in or click on the game icon in the taskbar and theres no problem.

OP is right. Alt-tabbers are rare. I see dolts firing all their weapons w/out pointing their noses down all the time in PUG games. Makes me want to alpha their CT rear armor.
I've done a fair amount of weapons testing in the first 30 seconds or so of a drop, but always aimed away from my team mates and into something close by so as to not show the other team where I am.

Wished the mechs in TG had armor -- they drop too fast to get dps calcs

if it happens, it happens, just have the common decency to type "sorry" so that we know you didn't mean it.

I spent all day trying to load into the testing ground, to make sure I test my weapons on each map (got Alpine 5 times in row), and I am just exhausted.
I think I'll just keep testing them on your backside, thank you.

Still not going to stop the Atlas who, 2 minutes into the match and with no enemies in sight, alpha-strikes me in the rear mid-torso taking me to no armour and critical internals.
