Betty Needs To Shut Her Trap

I'm getting tire of having Betty whine in my ear every time an enemy mech looks at me funny.

Now, I quite enjoy the startup sequence, and the 'missile incoming' warning is handy. But I don't need to be told EVERY TIME a weapon, ammo slot or heat sink gets destroyed. When I'm dumb enough to have a side torso shot off, it takes her about five minutes to list off all the components that have been destroyed, and I've heard the phrase 'Warning: Targeted!' so many times it's beginning to replace that high-pitched whining sound you normally hear in an empty room.

Can we get the option to control what Betty says to us? I for one would relish the chance to cut out some of her dialogue, or to set conditions on exactly when she says it.

This may sound like Blasphemy to some MW veterans but I muted Betty soon after she was implemented.

Agreed. She just needs to have a bloody "Left Torso Destroyed" that overrides contents when the whole thing goes up.

"Warning Targeted" just needs to go. Spotting targets for allies didn't need nerfing, and that's what this does. In a brawl all it does is **** people off because it keeps looping (I, personally, make it a point to hammer 'R' in a brawl now, it gives me an overview of surrounding mech's damage levels and ****** them the **** off - I shouldn't be allowed to do this). Outside of a brawl, it just means that the poor sod who thinks Alpine finally means he can scout in his scout mech alerts the enemy to them being located as soon as he targets them for his allies and gets a couple of 'phracts (generally) forcing him out of LOS. It didn't need nerfing (more).

Also, Target, New Target needs to go. MW2 just had tones when you targeted something, and when you were targeted.

And teh one thing I really want her to say, she doesnt.

Can I get a "Target Destroyed" up in this *****?

How about an override toggle where you get an animation of your pilot angrily punching a button and yelling "Shut the f*ck up Betty!"? Could be amusing, might even pay a few MC for such a gag... :)

Betty is not so bad it's the announcing of being targeted.

If betty's so smart to know your targeted how come she can't work a rearward radar to show you the mech 50 feet behind other than when i blasts you?

i don't mind how radar works for gaming mechanics but betty needs to shut up telling players there now being targeted. otherwise i love her. in mechs with non xl engines it's nice to see if she can rattle off everything destroyed before i do actually die.

plus when is she gonna satrt telling us to put the seat down on the toilet?

I like the concept and all, but the implementation is too 'active' for me, very annoying in fact.

I played all of two games with Betty turned on.

I guess you guys like not knowing there's the possibility of missiles coming at you until they're already in the air. The betty warnings are annoying but very useful. Helps me get to cover before the missiles fly many times. They should stay, just mute her in options if you dislike it.

You need Betty to tell you that LRMs are incoming? The giant flashing sign isn't enough?

Man I need to hold lock on people more often, seems like they freak out and take cover at even the POSSIBILITY of LRMs.

mute her if you want but i've grown up with her , it's just the constant you are being targeted comment gets on my nevres. thats the issue it's either everything or nothing and i like her voice, just not the announcing of targeting as it makes scouting hard.

nothing better than to target someone, call int eh lrms and then as there almost about to hit, painting them with tag and then they know of ****** this is gonna hurt.

do recon units need a nerf, i thought it was just ecm

Bitching Betty needs to be more Betty and less p.o.r.n star. MW3 had it done perfectly. When some actions don't let bitching betty finish a short line you know her lines are too long.

Oh for crying out loud p.o.r.n isn't a curse word.

Betty's issue is she talks too much when a warning tone and on-screen notification would do. Give me my MW4 triple-beep "incoming missile" sound.

I quite like betty but I've seen a few people posting suggestions to do with customizing things she will and won't call out. Hopefully they implement such options because...well, options only benefit the game.

As for that high pitched sound you hear in an empty room. That's called tinnitus. Means your ears are in some way damaged(perhaps you frequent concerts too often or work in a loud-*** metal shop or something). Nothin' to worry about, really but it's always good knowin' things.

the only thing that gets on my nervs is the new "targeted" and the alarm when you go critical. The on screen message is enough i dont need to hear the alarm for 10+ seconds depending on what ever makes the critical alarm go off forever. I know when im about to die, I dont need her mocking me for 10+ sec while its happening.
