What names will pgi use? The inner sphere names? Or the clan names?
Mad Cat or Timber Wolf?

Btw when I say both I mean each name is there. I mad cat/timber Wolf.

In theory you should see the clan names as clanner, and the is names as an is mw. *flys away*

Inner Sphere names, because it will annoy the clanners. ;)

My answer goes hand in hand with what I would view as an ideal implementation of the Clans:
  • You can only play one thing at a time, decided at login, clan or IS. (Think Horde vs. Alliance in WoW ;) ) No mixtech.
  • Clanners drop with clanners (e.g. a star of 5) vs. IS mechwarriors with IS mechwarriors (e.g. 8, two lances of 4).
  • The clanners drop in clan mechs with clan names. The spheroids drop in IS mechs and see the IS names of the clan mechs
This way clan tech can keep its canonical superiority. Balancing is done through numbers and other penalties (e.g. no target sharing for clanners).

since the IS never saw a Clan mech before, or know what a Clanner is, guess it would be logical to use IS names.

What is a clan? Is this some "blabalbbrabbl" about "Kerensky is comming back"-idiotism or there IS something behind the pheriphery.

...

Get real people, there is nothing beyond the pheriphery!

I think I'd prefer it both ways, with a toggle. On some 'mechs I prefer the inner sphere name, on others, the clan.
