This goes against the FASA rules I believe I read, oh what, 20 years ago...

When shutdown, you should not be able to be targeted. You should not show up on enemy radar.

I just played my 3rd match that while I am shutdown, I was targeted and streaked. Bitching Betty confirms so even said so (even if I am shutdown, why is Bitching Betty still talking anyways?).

"Targeted"

I am not talking about an immediate shutdown. I've been shutdown for several minutes hiding behind a building (because I have no choice on the gargantuan Alpine Peaks map, where my range is only < 270m, I just have to sit back and protect the one flag - boring).

A mech will come around the corner and "Targeted" followed by a volley of missiles.

Now, I know that the Begal Active Probe is suppose to help with finding shutdown mechs at close range. But 3 times in a row, I was immediately targeted by several mechs when shutdown for several minutes? That's a big coincidence.

The real problem is that you are regularly shut down for several minutes. **** and play something else.

Beagle Active Probe can detect/target shutdown mechs. Not really sure anyone actually uses BAP, but it is possible.

Also, not sure about this, but if someone is using TAG maybe that is why the LRMs are incoming, they are homing in on the laser.

Also, i have heard that just like the current issue with ghost targets, the "warning - targetted" message is bugged, but since you have missles incoming, i would hazard to guess it is acurate in your case.

Any other ideas???

No.
Not a coincidence at all.
See you where sitting base camping and the enemys scouts where (in contrary to you) doing what they are supposed to do.
Finding traps and campers for their LRM boats.
So enemy scout (hes carrying his electronics, very likely a Raven 3L, as he is supposed to be) sees you beeing shut down there and targets you.
And then the rain begins to fall.

Most likely BAP. I've got BAP on all my scout mechs with SSRMs and also my LRM boats, the extended sensor range (especially vs ECM) and reduced lock time are quite helpful.

Where did you find this rule about not camping the base? If the enemy lights are already on base (ready to cap) then he's probably in the right place. Some people need to learn that their chosen play style isn't the only 'right' one.

who said it was a wrong play style, just that thats why he got killed, because enemy lights went to base and lit him for their teams LRMs

1 guy camping the base while shut down means it's 7 vs 8 out there. If you can't see the problem with that I guess I don't mind because we'll never meet in battle because of Elo. :)

Get a balanced build already.
