So, i havn't played for several months. I decided to let things sit and change for a while and then come back and see what has happened. So, what has happened in the past few months?

I see something about aliegences, or something like that. As I'm specifically tagged as a lone wolf in my mech lab. That's something new to me.

I've seen some stuff about player rankings going into effect. How is that working out?

In the couple games i stumbled around in I still saw insane amounts of streak missiles. Is that still a problem? I was hoping that would be more evened out by now.

Other then those...what's some of the good and bad that has happened, Mechanically and meta-wise? I'm still looking for the right time to activate premium time. XD

Me too. This sure isn't in my opinion. I'd wait until the Beta tag comes off.

If you were here when ECM dropped, then you have missed nothing as nothing has really changed. We did get a big map, some hit check counters to ECM, PPC's got a speed buff but still cross, and go through stuff, the lag shield is back, night and heat vision got a layer of black added to them, you can paint your mech now, Poptarts are viable, and we got a few new mechs.

Other than that, PPCs now short out ECM for four seconds, LL/LPL/PPC/ERPPC all got notable drops in heat, big improvements to the netcode and (IIRC) the tweaks to ballistic shot speed, conquest game mode and Gauss critical explodes are all post ECM as well. Oh, also machine guns, flamers and LBX10 now destroy items in unarmored areas far more efficiently, but are still pretty useless.

Streaks are now usually only used on Ravens and Commandos with ECM as they're pretty much useless unless paired with an ECM. Current rage inducing builds are Streak/ECM Ravens, 6xSRM6 Catapults, Gauss/PPC poptarting Cataphracts and 6-PPC Stalkers.

Big patch tomorrow bringing some interesting things. Not all of which are being positively received.

Ah, right you are. My mistake, usually you don't get people yelling this much about the sky falling till the day before it hits you on the head. <_<

Alpine Peaks is worth playing the game for; it's a shame you can't just pick that map outright.

I suggest trying to find a couple videos of games on Alpine Peaks, it's really nice. I didn't think one map would change the game much but it really did.

Oh, well, that's defiantly a bit more substantial.

Without starting some sort of ragewar, what is the polarizing subject being implemented on the 19th?

Read this. It's the consumables.

Edit: because I somehow linked it to page 2 by mistake.

Better yet, read the thread with the details on how it's going to be implemented:
http://mwomercs.com/...10-consumables/

In short:
Free player modules:
Coolant 2
Coolant 1
Artillery 1
Artillery 2

MC player modules:
Coolant 3
Artillery 3
Airstrike 3
Fourth module of their choice

And that's on a four module slot mech, most would be worse off.

Edit:
Actually, after checking nearly every mech in the game has one or two module slots without masters, so it's really more like:

C-Bills:
Coolant 2

MC:
Coolant 3

or

C-Bills:
Coolant 2
Coolant 1

MC:
Coolant 3
Airstrike 3

We were told a year ago we wouldn't be getting pay to win. Had they been honest, for once, at the time, they would've slashed the number of people who bought in to the Founders by a third, if not more. And this reversal could be a year in the future, STILL people would be as upset now as they are with just two weeks until the downward spiral begins.

They said the last thing they wanted to implement was any Pay2Win features, something they've said again in posts today.

But it's an important lesson to learn not to trust the what a developer says, because any developer with a publisher doesn't get to choose what they do once their publisher decides to stick their hand in. I'd say it's pretty likely that this is the result of a push by Infinite Games to milk the game even more so they can shove even more of the money MWO earns into Ironclad's MOBA project.

You sure it was SSRM's? Take another look and I will bet you they are SRM's. SRM's/PPC's are the shiznet now.

definatly SSRM2s, there were at elast a couple streak cats...and it seemed like a good chunck of missle capable thigns were toting them. Might have just been an anomoly, i just putzed around a few games.
