Today I was rearranging shortcuts and whatnot on my computer and I lost my shortcut to the game execute file. Running a search with windows explorer and manually looking where I thought it should be found nothing. I opt to re-download the game. That seemed to go off without a hitch, jumped back into a mech and all the wpns were set to fire on #1. I assume those specific items would be resident on the computer so wasn't too worried about reassigning keys, however after reassignment they failed to work in the round I reassigned them in. I go off and get killed, more likely than not, reload the same mech in and they work fine.
I then jump in another Mech, a Hunchback this time as opposed to an Atlas and the same exact thing happens. I play around with it some and find out that everything works just as its supposed to from the keyboard, but not from the mouse. I die, return and everything is fine after that.
Now, say four of five hours later, I restart, jump in and just the same as before, even though I had already remapped the weapons select. Never had this problem before downloaded today. I am now in the process of re-downloading again to see what changes. I can not really seem to isolate to any one thing, game, mouse, system and am still toying with it but if anyone else has seen this it would be great to hear from you.

In the future with the shortcut issue.

As for your weapon select issue.. Remember that every time you redownload the game, you must remap your controls to how you prefer.
Weapon selection is 'remembered' for a 'Mech once you complete a match. But only sometimes remembered if you leave the match early.
Also note that you should always return your weapon selection back to group 1 for the mouse to work properly. Otherwise remap the left mouse button to "Fire group 1" instead of "fire selected group."
This should solve your issues. Also, stop re-downloading the game. Just causing yourself more hassle than you're fixing.

Thanks for the info on the shortcut that will help.
The issue is remapping in the game doesn't seem to get #1 working on the mouse ... I totally understand that re-downloading means remapping that makes sense. As far as redownloading, really trying solve this without looking to damn stupid. I guess maybe that mouse button thing about selected group may be the real issue, i never remember changing that in the beginning but tht makes total sense.
Thanks again

Always good advice - I think everyone's forgotten to do it at some stage and was confused as to why MB1 and weapon group 1 no longer saw eye to eye

Mouse 1 will always "fire selected group" if you o not move the 'group select" (the vertical bar in the weapon group area) back to the first slot, it won't fire the weapons in group 1. Note that the 1 2 3 4 5 6 keys on top will also fire weapon groups, so you can use those to debug if a weapon is firing in the right group.
