Please forgive this obvious question but:
How the heck do I join the commonwealth so I get a nice shiny pic in my profile.
I can't figure it out

Click on Profile at the very top right next to Logout. Then you will see a new set of links appear below "Game, Media, Forums, etc..." One of these links is called "FACTION". Click there and you will see your faction choices.

Looks like you figured it out. Now join a unit or hop on the LCAF Communications Hub (www.housesteiner.com) and become a "house pug."
