Looks like I'll be there all 4 days.

Not this year. Since I have to fly in from Germany, I decided that I'd try to go every 2 years. I went last year... So if finances allow (I am buying a condo this year), 2014 again.

I will be there with a whole crew of Catalyst guys putting on a whole host of Battletech events for every player, from someone who has never touched a miniature before all the way up to players who've been at it 20+ years. I hope to see many of you in our events. You'll be able to spot me from my Tri-corn hat, or just ask for me by handle.

Wish I could, but I'm in Norway and GenCon is... not. :) Finances won't allow that particular expenditure at the moment.

Just signed up for a 3025 BTech game at GenCon ... I'm excited!

It's been several years since i've been to GenCon and it's been even longer since the last time I played the BTech boardgame.

One of the posters on Catalyst's BT boards managed to find this buried in the current 2013 event catalogue:

Quote

The Gencon listing for this year's cannon event describes it as "Play in the conclusion of this year's story arc featuring the Fall of Terra: a massive fracas finds the Republic challenged by Alaric Ward and his Clan Wolf forces."

According to the latest BattleChat, the outcome will have an impact on events as portrayed in the upcoming ilClan sourcebook, but not to the extent that it will derail the broader course of the "future of BT" as planned out over the next several years or so.

Still, if you are going to GenCon this year, and want to play a (minor) role in the culmination of the Dark Age storyline, this will be your chance to do so.

I never got into the Dark Age storyline, but I'll have to check this one out.

If you want to get caught up to speed, the recently-released Era Report: 3145 should be as good a place as any to start. There will be other books released this year from Catalyst set in the Dark Age also, such as Field Manual: 3145; but the era report should be enough to help you decide whether or not you'd feel comfortable with settling in to this time period.

I will be in attendance this year as well, I normally hang out with the Heroes of Rokugan crowd at gencon, but this year I will be checking the Catalyst area as well.

Also hoping that I have enough cash on hand to pick up a IWM Omega figurine...

I just got some pictures of the setup for the "Stop That Ship!" game. Wow! That's going to be fun. The guy putting it together has done a great job! I'll have to post some gameplay pictures.

I'll be there, but I'm splitting my time between Battletech and Magic: The Gathering. Signed up for a couple of basic Battletech events (Bootcamp/Grinders) and the Bring Me The Head of Neal event!

If anyone is going who plays either of the clix games (Dark Age or Age of Destruction), send me a PM, as I'd love to get some games going!

Good luck! I didn't do any of those events this year because last year they were too large. In a 2 hour session I moved twice and fired once, no one died.

For those about to rock, we salute you. Have a great time. I'll be mostly found roaming the exhibit hall. Researching...ever researching (and spending).

Always remember that what we have here built with electrons and photons began with tabletop miniatures. Metal ones.
