I would like to see "instances" (think WoW) where you can drop as a unit (4,8, or 12) with specific mission objectives, and your opponents are AI controlled enemies. The enemies would consist of Areospace fighters, defense platforms, enemy dropships, infantry, tanks, battlemechs, and even elementals (when the clans show up).
These missions could have varying degrees of difficulty (possibly adjustable - to determine enemy numbers), and could take upwards of an hour (maybe even more to complete).
This would also be a great way to introduce the Clan Invasion. Simply make instances/missions that we can drop into that involve the initial clan invasion.
In terms of the rewards for completing a mission, yes there would be C-Bills and experience, but also we could earn salvaged tech that we can use in our mech-lab. After each kill, depending on how damaged the enemy mech is, there would be a chance to salvage components/weapons, or even the entire mech itself. This would be a great way to control the release of Clan based tech into the Innersphere because, and we all know it, if Clan tech is just made available to us, EVERYONE will be using it. This way you actually have to earn it, and the rate at which it is earned is controlled somewhat.

Sorry to inform you, but the PvE party was cancelled some weeks ago.

This has actually been suggested since MWO was first announced...and the developers here have acknowledged it as a possibility. However, it'll be a long, long time(like one year minimum..) before they'll have the spare time to even consider implementing some PvE elements.
Though it's always nice to see people bringing it up. Just cements the importance of coop elements in this type of simulatory game...or any game, for that matter.
Imagine if we had a grand campaign that works kinda like MW4: Mercs. Choose missions, earn money for success and bonuses for optional objectives, salvage guns and mechs based on how damaged they are and use what you find/buy in the free market to outfit your lance(or two lances!) of mechs that you and your buddies control...with decent AI filling the gaps. Would be quite fun, but it'd also take a long time to develop.

I feel PGI would be missing the money wagon if they did not eventually create PvE content.
I would even say that PvE contnet may be the primary money making venture for PGI to pursue.
I would not place PvE content anywhere near the front of the que currently. All previously set design goals need to be met first.
If PvE mission packs were created those would be purchased and generate revenue especially if multiplayer options were availabe. This would encourage groups of users to make purchases of PvE content packs.
In addition PvE ellements would serve as an excellent venue for new users to learn the game before jumping into PvP.So not only would the inclusion of PvE potentially increase profits but also serve to improve the level of competion in PvP by having more experienced users entering PvP for the first time.
I know I would certainly purchase any PvE content made available as long as the pricetag was reasonable.

to be honest, i like the co-op option in Warface... but MWO? there is enough work for PGI to get done...
as they said, nothing is impossible, but MAYBE they will think about it in 2 years or so...

Holding your breath would not be advised.

Carrioncrows- Any plans to have AI controlled theater? For example a particular game mode where 8 players versus 1 AI drop ship and or mechs/tanks/infantry in a team orientated game mode? I have more in depth examples but I figured i would ask the basic question first.
A: PVE has been talked about, no plans to develop or release anytime soon.

I would give my right arm for PVE.
However, I believe in some of the recent Ask the Devs, this has officially been stated as never happening.
Sorry, too tired to find the links...
