I do use two of them but I can use any laser weapon as effeciently. The reason that I use them is the maps. That's the real issue. Tourmaline is the newest map and I have played it twice as much as any other map while Alpine comes in second with 50 more matches than any of the smaller maps. I feel like I have to use ERPPC's because of their range, for the huge maps we spend most of our time on.
There's really no reason to chase the needle on PPC's until you have all the weapons where you want them. But like i said with the maps, if I'm going to spend most of my time on them, I'm going to use an efficient range weapon. Map balance is as important as weapon balance.

Ppc's Aren't The Problem You're Looking For.

Don't forget that in addition to longer range, ERPPC's don't have the minimum range that standard PPC's do.
Alpine's really the worse offender of the two new maps, but their large sizes do present a disposition toward sniper builds. But, Tourmaline, at least, has a large amount of rock formations simply jutting out of the ground, straight into the heavens, presenting much more cover to obscure snipers' shots.
However, Alpine is an absolute mess in this regard. there's not very much cover at all on the map, other than a few smaller hills and ridges punctuating the vast, open expanses.
While I do prefer larger maps, the utter emptiness of Alpine presents a concerning advantage toward sniper builds - and entirely ***** over anyone who hasn't brought long-range weaponry.

Big maps and snipers are the problem? Deal with it.

Surprisingly my main mech in those big maps is a brawler!
