I think it would be an interesting idea to be able to contract out a "dropship" of mechs from your collection.
Preliminary thoughts it would work like this:

-Choose 4 mechs from your collection, add them to your dropship, put dropship on "the market"
-when someone chooses to lease your dropship, they pay no cbills, instead a percentage of their winnings with your dropship mechs during the time frame would be given to you upon end of the contract (possibly taken out of their earnings directly at end of each match)
-during the time of contract, all your contracted mechs including their loadouts modules etc would be unavailable to you in the mechlab or for use, as the player who rented your dropship is now "using them"
-time of contract maybe 24hr, 72hr, or a week?
- the loadouts and appearance of mechs cannot be changed by the lessee, they could personalize weapon groups preference ingame but the mechs come "as is" by owner
-only 1 dropship allowed leased between parties at a time, the lessee would be never be able to hold more than 1 dropship in total from anyone at a time. giving the ability for them to rent more could possibly allow for a single player to wreck the availability of dropships on market
-dropship doesn't count as 4 mech slots for lessee, it would simply work like the trial mechs, unchangeable but always selectable within the contracted time frame
-at the end of the contract, dropship owners get your mechs back and whatever cbill percentage of winnings pgi decided would work

Some benefits I think dropship would bring:

-key variety, especially giving new players the opportunity to customize their game experience and not stuck with whatever 4 trial mechs
-ability to grind different variants for those with limited mechbay and cbills available to them, while I could see ppl trying to lease dropships filled with cheesecats, dcs and 3Ls you could also find success leasing out odd variants of mech no one wants to buy but needs to grind for elite, or just whatever custom builds you think others would like too. Also to be considered the better mechs offered generally have more of an investment in them, an important consideration for the the owner
-increased immersion, merc companies houses and such could lease out their custom mech armies possibly of uniform appearance as well. Integration with upcoming cw, in fact, just another facet of a system already in place that is a form of resource management simulation, where your resources are your mechs, weapons, engines, modules etc.
-more choice is always better (at least in a custom mech game)
-ability to share your builds and try the builds of others, overall enhancing player understanding of setups and mech capabilities
- just the fact alone that new players would not be forced into a trial mech for their first long sets of games until they can afford something they want would mean you'd be seeing a lot less of those "K2 x2 machine gun x2 ppc kitty that generally dies within the first 30 seconds of contact" matches. Of course even in a fully-kitted out custom deathmachine from XXUBERGAMERXX most beginners will probably die a horrible explosive death in their first few games anyway, but that's life and its also funny, so give beginners more mechs so at least they're not as easily identifiable in a target hungry environment.

that's about it. My SUGGESTION PGI HOPE U LIKE IT AND PLS 2 IMPLEMENT YEEEEAAAHHHHHHH

comments idea feedback here thx
