I'd drop the AC5 for a second AC2 and use the spare weight to upgrade the SRM4 to a 6 with an extra ton of ammo, but then I've never piloted an Atlas.

I would avoid AC/2s like the plague. They're not good weapons for Atlases. They generate ridiculous amounts of heat and they spread damage around like crazy. UAC/5s are far superior.

75 ammo between 2 uac5s? 125 is often cutting it close, 150 more reassuring

Doh! I knew something was wrong with the final loadout, I just couldn't put my finger on what.
Edit: Also to the OP, this is the link to the mechlab itself

Feel free to use that to tinker around, you'll save yourself a lot of cash.

Lol
Wrayeth, i came up with EXACT THAT build for my 7D yesterday.
It seems just natural if you do not want it to fit it as a close quarters brawler.
Any advice/suggestions on how to play it?

alternately, you can do the srm4+6 and cram an extra DHS in there
if you like lbx's you can swap out the ac10 and cram an extra DHS in there too
ac20/gauss is probably a bit too heavy unless you feel like dropping down to streaks for the missiles
in any case, 3LL builds of the D are my favorite, rather than the 4ML

First of all you should decide what kind of role you want your atlas to be in. If you want it to be long range then check out my guide for the Supporter Atlas D build:

I forgot one thing: Adding to Wrayeth build i managed to cram a BAP in one of my arms, and loaded up the advanced sensor range module.
Add those two to a Gauss and 2 ERPPC....

AC/20 range is really like 810m.
