Curious what you guys think of this mech - maximum speed with a std engine, relatively heat efficient, and one big haymaker at 80 points of dmg.

What do you think?

I like it, just wonder if it would get too hot in the thick of it.

What about taking off 2 points of damage and add a much-better concentration?

(i mean regular LL and Artemis)

Not bad, but it's a 25% drop in heat efficiency and a 20% drop in sustained DPS...

You gain the ability to engage your targets at longer range and focus your SRM damage. In addition, you will find that you won't be constantly firing your weapons. Your SRM 6 will only come into play about 20% of the whole fight. The idea is to weaken the enemy from a distance, and splat the SRM in his face if he comes within 250m.

i would say swap out the 2 large pulse for 2 ERppc. im finding that 2 ERPPC are very managable heat wise with 15DHS, and for up close you can slaughter with the SRMs. you arent forced to brawl, but you can like a beast.

Regular PPCs at most, x4 SRM-6 will definetly get hot after one blast.

I think that looks great. I know the cooling may not be that impressive, but I run a similar build on mine (2xPPC, 2xSRM4, 2xSRM6, 1xML)) with 17 DHS and its extremely manageable. Now granted, I do NOT typically spam the PPCs on that build inside of 270m but I do still use them alternating weapon groups. In your case you'd likely have to use the LPLs the same way. Very nice build.

I preffer mine with std 300 2xerppc and 4xsrm6 3 tons of ammo rest is DHS, well u cant ALPHA many times but if someone dare to come close to U, well he is pretty dead. And u can doo some nice dmg from distance before u come to srm range.

I think it just comes down to what suits your playstyle. There are advantages to both of your builds - and both share the same weakness (only 3 tons of ammo). Yours is clearly better in a standoff (thanks to the PPCs). His is going to do better for brawling (much more heat efficient and he can use the LPLs to deal with lights instead of wasting SRM ammo). Considering both builds only carry enough ammo for 12.5 shots, that's a huge concern. You can still hit lights with PPCs, but pulse lasers work a lot better.

Yeah my first thoughts are dump the LPL. The last thing you need in this build is more heat. Those 4xSRM6 run very hot; I know because I used to have my 8R set up with that and 2xLL. Artemis sure is nice if you can afford the tonnage and crit slots, but in this case I would opt out for more DHS. Removing Artemis would get you 4 tons back, but then you have 1 slot remaining and 2 tons remaining, which is less than optimal but you could add more SRM ammo which is always nice. I guess whatever works for you.

I had about the same loadout but with LL instead on LPL and it really looks nice on paper. But in reality the Awesome is a huge target with about as big upper torso as an Altas but a lot less armor. Even the speed is quite similar as the Atlas with 350 engine gives you just 4kph less than an 8R with 300 engine. So if you haven't got the Atlas yet I suggest you do that instead. But maybe you got all 3 of them already and I'm wasting my time :D
