People keep forgetting that light mechs were always meant for guerrilla warfare and things like State Rewind are just reinforcing that position. Those that die ridiculously fast or to mechs heavier than them are usually still in the mindset that they can tank a whole team for 5 minutes and that their high ping will magically save them. There is a reason the Jenner is making such a huge return lately. It hits hard and fast and can jump(again). Overall a better damage producer than the 3L now and just as good a scout. The 3L really isn't as nasty anymore and a good pilot with SRMs will do far more for his team then a bad shot using SSRMs as a crutch.

Honestly, I'm hopeful.

The only reason why I even bothered building a RVN-3L was because its ECM could counter the Streaks on my JR7-D, and then again I would have just piloted a JR7-F all along if I could register any damage at all with lasers on my 175-200ms ping connection.
200ms ping + Light 'Mech + lasers = no damage.

In the current state of the game, I find it easier to hit Light 'Mechs with ballistics and other projectile weapons simply because there is a lot of feedback to let me know how much I need to lead my shots to compensate for the lag.
The weapons don't even fire until roughly half a second after I press the trigger; lasers offer absolutely no feedback and I've always found it impossible to compensate for the lag.
With any luck, state rewind will make my other 'Mechs viable again in Light versus Light combat.

We shall see.

I'm gonna bet they tweaked those too.. After all they've been dodging questions and demands for 3L nerfs.. They've gone so far as to say we are waiting for state rewind to come out before they look at tweaking the raven.. Now throw on that they said that there might have to be newfound weapon balance changes after State rewind hits live...

So whats this been saying to me.. Well that on their servers they've been encountering very good damage results, Maybe almost tooo good of results... And that they want to see it on live prolly hoping that they didnt miss something.. In which case it holds true to thier testing and ravens as well as other mechs start goin down like a Huuker in an alley.

Maybe my laser builds will start to shine up a bit more..

check out the cicada x-5 video on ign. Theres a couple nice parts where ravens go boom.. I especially liked seeing that 4ML to thier back had the proper effect finnaly.
