I had to start a new topic since the one I was replying to got locked

They can have a ton of C-bill and MC sinks once CW is in place. Charge us C-bills for moving from planet to planet. Charge us a House affiliation fee (the price for house perks). Charge Merc corps an upkeep fee for any planets owned. The sky is the limit, just charging for mechs and no repair/rearm doesn't cut it. They are just not releasing enough mechs to make this work at this time.
People will spend more money on house loyalty items. Unit color schemes. custom decals and anything else that promotes their House/Unit. Both MC and C-bills will be spent when this happens.

Right now there is no goal other then the in-game combat being tons of fun. I enjoy the game but many in my unit and friends not currently playing are just waiting for us to do something together. Like a House invasion or repelling the clans. This is what made MPBT3025 so much fun. Heck many in our group played in the Genie days where you had to pay real money per hour to play the game. CW did all of this and it was the same old mechs and same old drop modes with graphics that were much worse.

MWO can be better then anything we have seen. I just hope they don't miss the bus on CW and spend needed resources on gimmick ideas like MC coolant flush when the sooner CW comes out the sooner they will see huge returns.

if I have to spend dollars to just be not crippled in the CW metagame, then I'm not playing.

And of course they're going to monetize CW. What remains to be seen is how intelligently they do it.

I don't think you (the OP) have to worry about them skippingout onCommunity Warfare because the massive, expansive territory capture meta game is one of pivotal foundations of MW:O. Heck, they aren't even considering the game "released"until CW is out. That's how much importance they are placing on it.

This is my hope and many others. We just have had very little info and many believe it has been put on more of a back burner for quick MC and real money infusions like fuzzy dice and hero mechs.

There's a few attempts by fans to make player run meta games but their implementation is sketchy at best. This is what I've waited 17 years for since 3025 was teased to its AOL audience (and never got started there). Even if they came up with a mini CW with just the inner planets around Terra active I would be happy.

You dont have to worry about CW at all. When this comes out its 3132 (Dark Age). Means your credits will be worthless at this time..

CW is a pipe dream. This development team does not have the resources to implement anything nearly as ambitious as they have claimed they want to do. It's really, really common in the video game industry for developers to have a "grand vision" and eventually find out that they have no realistic way to implement it and eventually release something not nearly as ambitious.

I'm not too concerned about CW. I'd be psyched if it happens, but I won't hold my breath. However, I will be quitting this game if they implement disposable MC items. That's the fastest way to turn a fantastic game into a P2Win scam.

There are enough games out there that make you spend real money on items that are throwaway. If PGI goes the way of pay real money for a single use item, I'm afraid I would have to look elsewhere for my giant robot needs.

If they can create a CW that's driven mostly by the players, somewhat along the lines of EVE nulsec wars, then it'll be more robust. If it's too top-down it could stagnate quickly. I'd rather war a real rival than be waiting around for a contrived battle. Not that special events created by PGI wouldn't be cool, but they shouldn't become the meat of CW.

Since we are still in beta, maybe just a few test planets or something on the smallest scale would improve morale. That would give us something to test and while it may not sound grandiose it is something that is sorely needed. I don't think anyone here is expecting, oh hey next patch will have the entire inner sphere and CW all over the place.
Little steps are fine it just needs to be on a specific path, the path of CW :)
