I find the role of the base too similar to conquest, my suggestion is that the game cannot be won on takeover of the base but if a team allows the base to be taken over a small pecercentage of damage ponts earned are taken and redistributed to the opposing team.
It does not matter If they win or lose as then the base becomes more important as c-bills are important, might get the faster mechs back to base a bit quicker.

Double takeover nulifys the reward and must be taken over fully or nothing.
Hopefully it wouldn't give the programmers too much of a headache but it gives it a little edge.
Just a suggestion as assault should be about outright action as opposed to semi-conquest.
