I was curious if it has been proposed before that we get a community representative. I ask because it would be nice if one person who presumably would have at least a closer line to the ears and eyes of decision makers were among us. This person could make official polls, take input and concerns. This latest advent in game design gave me the idea that it would be nice to have someone like this around. I in no way would ever qualify because I am too ignorant on too many occasions but that does not mean that someone that is intelligent and well schooled in communication is not among us.
Forums are our only voice to the developers but when we muddle it up we only do a discervice to ourselves and the concerns we have.

We could elect them every two years (or six) and send them to the most expensive city in the country where they would argue incesantly and accomplish nothing... oh wait -- we already have 535 people like that!

If this is what happens when Garth goes on vacation then someone should handcuff him to his desk.

I would like someone not getting paid by PGI to be a representative honestly.

Well that is pretty much a large part of Garth's job. The NGNG crew are the players side of it. What more do you want?

Have you seen this community? Who would volunteer for this and be able to remain unbiased?
Very good question. Who is really unbiased anyway, we all have opinions. I was speaking more to poll results passed up, instead of a bunch of polls that need to be merged and deleted because they cover csimilar ideas.

I'm pretty sure what happened is that Garth saw the patch notes about coolant flush and said "Coolant Flush? Yeah Okay. I'll be gone for a week, let me know how it turns out"

For as closed to unbiased as possible one would need be a fan of the Battletech/Mechwarrior IP as a whole, but not fanatical. A fan of the video game series, again not to a fanatical level. Have at least some basic understanding of programming so as to understand the difficulty in some of the things involved in getting things done on the development side. Have the time to read the majority of forum posts and make said polls in response to the general concerns of the community. Basically... it would be a full time job and as such not suited for volunteer work.

*308. There are 308 members of the House of Commons.
IGP is in Montreal and PGI is located in Vancouver. Your American way are irrelevant here.
