I'm trying to quickly type this in before the server downtime..
Anyways, the current command map is nice... until you use the "i" button for Info, and that's when there becomes a cluster****.
That in itself is a problem, and should be rectified with the following suggestions:
1) Have a list of EVERY member of the team (including the pilot using the command map) on the left or rightmost sidebars. Optionally, have each member of the team get a special designation (Alpha, Beta, whatever you feel makes sense).
2) Have the position marker hover over each player.. and adjust the marker as necessary based on movement. Make it easier to spot each teammate through better directional markers.
3) ECM should affect this, but the command map should report the last known location of the player before they are lost in the ECM cloak field. It should be hinted through the interface that the "signal has been disrupted" or something along those lines.

IMHO, information warfare needs some rework. Mechs currently cannot even share enemy loadout information iirc.

Personally, I don't lose sleep over that, although it is kinda up to the teammate to let everyone know the A1 is a splatcat or the K2 is a 2AC20 build. Being a good teammate does involve actual sharing of info.
Note: There are "suggestions" that there would be modules that would prevent chat from working between teammates, so you should take advantage of teamchat, as much as people ignore it these days.
Anyways, the only addition the command map would involve Betty...
When any of the command map stuff is put down, she would inform you. For instance...
"The commander requests the team move to D6."
"The commander requests the team attack C7".
"The commander requests the team to defend our position at E5".
"The commander requests the team flank right at H8".
Anyways... the command map is virtually useless if Betty doesn't tell you it's even being used.
Note: There are "suggestions" that there would be modules that would prevent chat from working between teammates, so you should take advantage of teamchat, as much as people ignore it these days.

For example in the selection box ( in the map view) you have the option of Captain (for the company and "gold lance") Red Lieutenant (for one lance) and Green Lieutenant (for the last lance)[/color]
