Last night I did some brain storming on how everyone might be happy.
A lot of people want the coolant flush option but many others don't want them as consumables or if we are forced to have them, give us both advantages and disadvantages for taking them.
Instead of making coolant flush a consumable... How about making it an upgrade? It can be expensive like DHS but you can only ever mount up to 2 coolant tanks on your mech. The advantage to having 1 or 2 of them is you can get that added cooling boost once or twice per match. You use them and they are empty for the remainder of that match.
BUT... Their disadvantages can be you have to equip them like JJs and HS, they each take up 1 crit slot and 1 ton. Also... If the coolant tank is critically hit just like in table top, it explodes doing 20 points of damage to that section of the mech. So in other words... If you have 1 or 2 coolant tanks equipped as upgrades, don't try and go a whole match without using them because there is a good chance they can take damage and do even more damage to you. If you use them and the tank is hit, its coolant was already used so your ok then
As for air strikes and artillery strikes... Again, get away from them being consumables and make them things that can only be used when called in from a command console.
Now I know... Wait!!!! That will be OP because everyone can call them in at any time and everyone will equip command consoles.. Nope... And here is how to get away from that.
As of right now, give 1 mech in each weight class the ability to carry the command console. Same idea behind ECM only mech. Only give the command console to 4 other mech variants and don't mix them with ECM mech. I think a command Jenner, Centurion, Dragon, and the Atlas K would give people more reason to pick these mech up more.
Now... So we don't have a full team of command mech calling in strike after strike... Only allow 1 of each strike to be called in within a 5 minute window. And once you call in that strike, you can not call in another of the same strike ( you only get 1 of each). In other words... If I'm in a command mech and I call in an air strike, all other command mechs on my team are blocked out for 5 minutes before someone else on my team can then call in their air strike. The same can apply for artillery. Most matches are over before 10 minutes and even if the match goes over 10 minutes... This still blocks 8 command mech from striking over and over and over. In that 10 minutes, only 2 command mech could use both an air strike and artillery strike.
So the disadvantage for the command console is again... It takes up crit slots and tonnage and cost a lot to buy.
Mods... Please don't delete this thread. I'm not crying about consumables... Just giving an alternative that can work better in my opinion.
