Could we get a more detailed explanation of what the capture accelerator module is good for? At the moment we seem to have an ongoing debate on whether it speeds base cap or accelerates missile lock on. The description is vague and I have yet to be able to find a dev explaining it's function on the forums. I would greatluy appreciate if we clarified this modules use and tool tip.

It gives a mech a 15% increase in capturing the enemy base. (if memory serves!)

Which is the entire debate. How could a piece of electronics speed up base cap and why would it be it listed under a header with missiles? This is a question that must be answered by someone in PGI, not the community because I have yet to find someone in the community that can give an answer then support it/prove it.
Our testing shows it speeds up miossile lock, I have never noticed any change capturing a base with it.

okay... so if you require a fluff reason why this module works... the bases you are capping need to be "hacked" in some way to do what their new masters demand of them - for example the resource gathering in conquest, the resource collectors have to be programmed to send that resource to the new capper's team instead of the old one

In the modules section of the mech lab the icon for "support modules" is three missiles.
Im not sure why the description doesnt say
Increases the rate of base capture by 15% instead of leaving out the base.
However, given the fact that all the other modules are useless it would be a bit powerful if it actually changed missile lock time.
Also its a stretch to read that into "reduces the rate of capture".

I appreciate everyones responses but what I am looking for is an explanation from the dev's to clarify and a more clear explanation in the tool tip. Otherwise any of us are just speculating on it's use since someone pointed out that the modules advantages are negligible at best. I have never noticed any advantage in base capping with it at all. Even with multiple modules on multiple mechs at the same place.

The modules is called Capture Accelerator. The description states. Increases Capture rate by 15.0%. Seeing as you DO NOT Capture a Lock on a Mech I fail to see the confusion. We only Capture Bases.

I bought this module thinking it gives you faster target capture for missile lock as well.
