A Jenner D has 4 missile ports, same as the X5. Difference is that the X5 can mount 2 SRM6, or two LRM15 if you're feeling squirrely.

Yes, I know putting 2xLRM15 on a 40 ton mech isn't efficient, but it's cool that you can do it if you want to.

Also, Cicadas are piloted by ballers.

No the Jenner D has 4 on each launcher, making it able to alfa with 8 SRMs, This mech can only alpha with 4 SRMs, big weakness. Yes youcan carry SRM6s but you will get three waves of 4 missiles per wave. If SRM 4 you will get two waves, the Jenner Gets 1 wave of 8 missiles with a single SRM 4. As I said in my earlier post, not OP, and infact when it comes to alpha strikes its weaker, its better at shotgunning an area. Likely better against fast mechs, worse against the slow ones.

Not all light mechs and mediums have ECM. Any exept COM 2D, RVN 3L, SDR 5D - deadmeat against X-5. Pretty P2W for me...

Wrong. Lets see, I can run 2 SSRMs on a jenner D as well (No one does because of the before mentioned no ECM), with the same 4 lasers, better speed, better manuverability. Better Mech for the weapon load. can be purchased with CBills. The argument that the X-5 is pay to win is pathetically weak when you compair this thing to the Jenner D. The Jenner is superior in every way exept some extra armor and a little better heat control as you have more wight for heat sinks. The Jenner has better alpha strike as the SRM4 there can fire all 8 in one salvo, the X5 must fire in two waves for SRM4 and 3 waves for SRM6. If you can stay on target for 3 waves (awsome skill if you can) then you get 10 more damage in an alpha, but that is a big if and the only advantage of this mech over the Jenner D.

Most fun I've had in a hero mech since the Wang. Sufficiently different to the other variants without being OP. Has flexible hardpoints to allow one to build a variety of mechs unlike the DK. Nice colours.

The X5 and the Wang are hands down the best hero mechs yet. More of the same please.

I am loving this mech, i either run two SRM6 w 4 SL, or 4 ML with 2 LRM5's. Either build works for how i play it. I use the two LRM build to run around capping and firing off potshots and mechs in the open, and the twin SRM6 build is for brawling. I have actually gotten quite good at aiming the SRM6's the way they stream out of the 2 tube launchers. Practice circling the mechs standing still in the Testing Grounds first, that helped me a ton. Now i can lead mechs quite well with them. ;)

Negatives:
  • Boring paint scheme. Up there with the Knell as the worst. I think I can reproduce it with just block camo. The lack of effort makes it feel like a cash grab.
  • No ECM means the 3M is nearly always the better choice and this mech is just for c-bill earning while pugging.
Positives:
  • Good default loadout, perhaps the best of the heros.
  • Compliments the rest of the CDA family nicely.

First time actually buying a Cicada, and mainly because I like using missiles more than using ballistics. I've got mine rocking 2 srm6's, 4 medium lasers, and 3 tons of ammo with a 305XL engine going about 121 KPH without tweaking. It's incredibly fun to run around in with a 3L or a 2D if you know some peeps.

I shifted the armor allocation a little bit. Other than that it runs nicely stock. I love my new Beetlebomb for it is glorious.

Seems like a ballanced mech. I am a little pissed that you put out a cicada with missiles when no cicada has ever had missiles. Oh well, too late now.

Let me know when there's a Cicada with 3 energy and 2 ballistics. I have a build waiting.

EDIT: big mouth. I guess I stand corrected, though it's a bit specialized:
