The devs already removed 3rd person view along with falling. Still we have this awkward 3rd person view of your mech when you're destroyed.
I think the proper way to handle mech destruction's view is from an ejecting pilot's perspective.
See the original trailer to have a clear example (jump to 2:10)

Ejection has always been part of the game, but as our pilots cannot die, I see no other way to use it. This would be a better ending for a battle, instead your falling mech (and often without even seeing who killed you)
[note: I suggested this in another thread, but I wanted a poll to see if people like the idea]

I mean this seems kinda neat but since its just pure entertainment value and totally trivial to gameplay or ease of use i dont really have an opinion :D

They said we'll have ejection sooner or later. Just my idea on the subject.

This is one of the visual features that I really want in MWO. ;)

It would be nice, but is is pretty low priority. Netcode, hit detection and so on are far more important.
Though the Spider battlemech doesn't have an ejection seat....so first person perspective of the mech falling down ?

They should definitely change the strange slow-mo 3rd person death scene to an in-cockpit Ejection (like that video shows)!
Ejecting has always been the way out of an exploding mech, I mean, how else do these pilots escape to fight again? This isn't some crazy FPS with infinite respawns, MWO is all about the realism... or at least it should be.

Rewatching that video made me realize how much this game needs more explosions. Right now, Mechs just kind of keel over when they die. I would like to see more of them go out in a huge mushroom cloud or a white sphere of doom.

Actually I like the 3rd person view of my mech when it goes down in destruction. I would even suggest the time between your mech dying and the stats popping up be longer, at least 3 or 4 seconds. Maybe there could be a radio button for those who don't want to watch, and go immediately to spectator or stat screen. Watching your mech go up in flames, parts sheered off, or falling face first are all part of the drama. Cutting two quickly to the stats screen really takes that away. I play with other guys using Team Speak 3, when my mech is down, I spectate. It is lots of fun to see the other guys kills and then when they go down, how it happens. Remember, drama is part of the game. It isn't everything, but it is something.

So my suggestion:

1) add 3 or 4 seconds to the death scene
2) add two radio buttons for those who don't want to wait:
a) game statis
:) spectate (grrr...this is supposed to be a "b" not a smiley face.)
