I like it!

A good fan-base doesn't lament continuity errors, it finds ways to explain them.

Still not entirely convinced it even is a Gazelle. It seems bigger even all broken up.

i can think of two things

A:You take what you got. A small merc unit or pirate band might have converted it to carry a lance of mechs.
B: It could be converted for cargo transport.

And if neother does it for you... A wizard did it.

maybe someone can find it but i remember in a past ask the Devs... they said both the drop ship in River City and the broken one in Frozen City were both Gazelles.

Maybe it was an extreme modifcation.

The Seeker for example is mostly an armor and cargo transport but it's very common for it to be modified to hold a Lance of mechs.

Just because it is listed as a troop transport doesn't mean it cannot move Mechs like freight. I think the difference between this and the Leopard would be the addition of doors which the mechs can drop out of during flight.

There has to be a reason why it got cut in half...

It probably hit a Nokia 3310.

The ship on the tarmac in river city is far too small to be a dropship. Looks more like a small craft of 200 tons.

They are being smuggled, that is the reason that Frozen City is a hot spot for a fight. The "Attackers" on the south side of the map are moving in to claim the drop ship evidence, while the "Defenders" on the north side are trying to prevent the capture of the ship remains.

Clearly, after crash-landing, a surviving MechWarrior was left with no choice but to shoot his way out.

There was a big discussion on this when they opened up the ship. My memory isn't the best, but I think they were saying it wasn't a Gazelle.

The Leopard looks a little like a Gazelle...

Most definately not a Leopard as the venerable Leopard is Unseen.

Lol, very accurate. An old Nokia could be used as a hammer back in the day.

Uh, I don't think the Leopard is an unseen anymore. Especially considering the Locust and Corsair which came from the same Anime source are Reseen.

And this is MWO's version of the Leopard.

The Dropship on River City is a Gazelle Class Dropship. But, it is a troop carrier that must have got stuck because the tarmac is covered in a landslide.

Quote

Posted Image

Mass 1,903 tons
Length 79 meters
Width 73.2 meters
Height 28.1 meters

One of the smaller armor transport DropShips in use, the Gazelle-class generally operates alongside the Fury and Leopard and is capable of carrying a complete 15 vehicle company of armored fighting vehicles.
Cargo

The Gazelle's 950 ton primary cargo bay, 60 meters by 12, is accessible via a single ramp in the craft's nose. The single ramp and very cramped bay hinder vehicle unloading, to the point that the majority of Gazelles lost during the Succession Wars were destroyed not in flight but on the ground while unloading in hostile landing zones.

It takes a long time to load into a Dropship that does not usually carry Mech because they do not have the Clamps that hold them in place.

In Frozen City I am not sure what drop ship that is? It has an Atlas, and Hunchback still in their restraining brackets. A Jenner half submerged with snow on the ground. I cannot figure out what Aerodyne Dropship it is? Roughly 200meters long.Wing tip to wing tip is almost 200meters, maybe 30meters tall

Never noticed, will check it out next time there. Maybe it was refitted in order to sneak the mechs into the area.

I gotta say I really like their version of the old Leopard, just looks so shiny! Though with that large wing structure at the back it looks almost more like the Leopard-CV designed to carry aerospace fighters.

Mechanical failure or Enemy fire from Aeropace.
