This is a post for wishlists, please try to be civil, it's not for saying 'that's stoopid, noob', it's for devs and the community to get a feel for common wants from the future playerbase.

list format, feel free to add reasons why.

My wants:

1. Instanced battle format (reduced lag and time to action)
2. scenario battles (helps relieve the boredom of pub grind)
3. Team battles (somewhere for the elite to band together and kill me more quickly than normal)
4. salvage options (kill a mech, take some loot) but with a 'naked' timer and cannot loot team mates
5. role based play (tank/dropship/command/repair/seller) - ever try hitting a drop zone with a 80 ton mech in the middle of a firefight? want to try?
6. single player tutorial/PvE (it's nice when you teammate knows WaTaFa they are doing)
7. friendly fire = ON (because anything else is LAME)
8. joystick support (this by default rules out browser based game)
9. keep the client <15GB (seriously - just did a game test of a 25GB+ client...LAME!!!)
10. option for choosing load out AFTER you see the round setup or DURING THE ROUND (nothing sux more than being the only light in a ground/pound med/heavy round, or having all one type of gun then realizing you're loadout totally sux).
11. repair/multiple life rounds/MRBs - 3x life or 1 repair per round kinda deal (just for variance) MRB costs $/rd.
12. local server DLC - so you can roll with your friends on your own map/hardware
13. custom skins - camo, badges, dashboard ornaments, etc...
14. retail version - gift cards/retail version with special cosmetics/weaps (no Bowie obv.)
15. Patch info BEFORE patch rolls out - (seems funny I even have to say this...but...BSGO...fail)
16. No P2W (mechs/ammo/kits) or if P2W, keep it on a P2W server (kiddie container)
17. 18+ ? (I don't want to fight next to cOoK13_m0NsT3, yeah I know this is a pipe dream)
18. option for premium sub - some of us just want to pay a set amount each month (wife+kids+dogs=budget)
19. Ease up the forum filter (seriously Wa Ta Fa is ***? holy *******, batman)!
20. Player merit system - see someone doing right by the team, give em some props (for xp multiplier or cosmetic badges)
21. Camoflage does not make mech invisible, just out of focus in zoom (sniper) mode and lower % to lock on targeting weaps and crit hits, do not make mechs disappear (it makes us crazy).
That's about it, I'm sure some more will come to me later (probably around 1am or so).

1. Let me pilot an Adder Prime modified to have jump jets (probably taking out the advanced targeting computer for weight, if I don't like how it works)
2. Let me pilot a Spider
3. Let me pilot a Panther
4. Have all players start out with a couple 'Mechs in each weight class, to let new players have a chance against higher-ranked ones and so that everyone can figure out their preferred play-style right away
5. Allow custom paint and decals
6. Don't make the game even remotely P2W - maybe just pay for cosmetic stuff and/or to avoid grinding so much
7. FF on
8. Less strict forum filter
9. Allow joystick use
10. No respawns or mid-round full repairs or something, but maybe include some sort of limited self-repair, like rerouting systems. No fixing destroyed equipment or that fused actuator, but electronic-type problems (like damaged sensors or targeting, or maybe slower responses from your 'Mech) could be worked out. If there are Mobile Field Bases or something of the sort, then it could be like the MW3 version - all your armor damage is repaired, but destroyed equipment and limbs stay destroyed

My personal wishlist...

1. The most important at first: I want my Annihilator!
2. The game should be complete in the canon.
3. PC-exclusive! No sh...y console-imple pls.
4. Allow joystick use.
5. Much IS & Clan-mechs as possible.
6. Nice musik (Jehuun Hwang/Duane Decker?) and sound-effects.
7. NO "pay 2 win", pls!
8. Good mech-simulation like all the good ol' MW-games.
9. Nice graphics, effects and good physics.
10. Dedicated servers.
11. Some freeborns :)
12. The blessing of Kerensky

1. mission based play instead of respawning deathmatch battles.
2. A inventory for you and your team to manage, you'll be in deep trouble if you are behind enemy lines without parts and ammo.
3. Scenarios and stories from the canon as playable missions (Tukayyid, Rasalhague, Tamar, etc)
4. Each player starts with 1 to 4 slots where he or she can store mechs, pay to unlock more mechslots.
5. Bases or dropships where to repair and reload inbetween missions (ties into #2)
6. No repairs during gameplay, only inbetween missions
7. Each faction has different mechs available, see the master unit list and the Era Report 3052 RAT's for more info.
8. Honor system for Clan players, dishonorable conduct will result in: picking from 2nd line mechs and then SL era mechs.
9. Coolant flush only available through coolant pods.
10. Tabletop mechlabs available, long refit times for regular battlemechs along with a chance of failure. Short refits for omni mechs with no chance of failure. Or close the mechlab and allow omni players to pick from the canon configs.
11. Salvage system, you keep what you kill or grab from a depot or cache.
12. Mechmarket, you can sell mechs and parts you have no use for, you can choose to sell Clan tech directly to NAIS for a massive amount of C-Bills.
13. Captured Clan mechs breaking down eventually, as described in the Avatar fluff in TRO 3058.
14. Unique terrains like: Moonscapes, ice plains, mountains, swamps, deserts and underwater terrain
15. Variable conditions that affect your mech: heat, cold, gravity and vacuum.
16. TacOps and StratOp features built into the game (ECM with ECCM and Ghost Targets functionality)
17. Large maps to have scout mechs make sense.
18. Destroyable terrain and the option to set trees on fire.
19. Legging a mech doesn't destroy it, even a mech with two missing legs can fire.
20. Implementing reseen versions of the unseen to avoid any and all lawsuits (people want Marauders and Warhammers)
21. Faction lobbies to team up with people.

Thematically correct auto cannons. If I have an AC 10 with 10 ammo, I want to be able to maintain a whole minute of continuous fire, Damage averaging 10 points every 6 seconds. Could be lots of little shells or a big one, but either way, 1 minute.

1) Omni mechs as OMNI MECHS! In previous MW games any mech could operate as an omni. Mechs that get refit should have realistic refit times and omnis should be instantly swappable - but you'd need the omni pods!
2) Battle armour! I realize this probably won't be in the first build, but at some point it would be amazing. You could have a Human as the Point leader and have CPUs as the other members of the battle armour squad as filling up a 5 man battle armour squad all with humans would be difficult. Of course the CPU would simply follow the squad leader around and repeat his actions.
3) Light mechs that move as quickly and are as agile as they are in the board game. Lights (at least those with speed, Panthers need not apply) should be very difficult to hit. Lights should in some manner be able to juke.
4) Different types of weapons. While in Battletech there is one Autocannon 10, in the universe there are actually many variants with slightly different abilities by different manufacturers. Great way to introduce variety.
5) Someone else mentioned this but to repeat Clan tech in the IS should break down over time.
6) Faction specific units.

1. Battlemaster, Zeus, Shadowhawk and Wolverine.
2. Persistant hot spot systems - Basically there should be systems in each sector that allow you to 'hotjoin' a battle taking place for control of the system. Either in defence or assault. This is not limited by lances vs lances or 12 v 12. It is what it is, what the side can rally in a persistent system for control of that area. This could have multiple locations on the map, fort, star port, military compound, power facility, water works, artilery sites and so on. Large epic battles.
3. Not too grindy.
4. Game depth that does not get boring after 2-3 months
5. MCorp that has full ability to make announcements and chat, test/training area.
6. Objective driven matches as well as death matches,
7. Ability to let people see your cockpit (with cool deco)
8. Game depth - where matches and wins gathers prestige for your faction which provides better resources
9. MCorps that can be associated to systems
10. Light and medium mechs have a 'real' and valuable purpose (I know about info warfare) but this also needs to be rewarding too, effectively same level of rewards and loot as other categories of mechs?
11. Loot items that allow you to deco your cockpit (lots of them.......)
12. Custom paintjobs on mechs
13. Faster mechs should be harder to hit (inherent % miss probability or something)

Cheers :)

I actually stay logged in on the forums when i tick the box.
mechs that actually do interact with the enviroment. iow collision damage, with most of that damage being done TO the enviroment.
mechs that actually have a limited gyro built into the model. SO. if youre going down a 20 degree incline and you make a hard turn and get hit from above, you more than likely will be knocked off balance and fall.
mechs that fall.
the option to choose which leg goes forward first on your mech.
a bad **** model of leg animations including things like sliding
not coming to a dead stop after you JJ while in motion.
I want enviromental interaction. If i jj into a shallow body of water I want to make a splash.
i want fairly detailed damage models so i can SEE what part of the enemy mech I want to shoot at.< you know, the black smoking part>
i want ammo cook off like mwll<missles>
I want at the very least the level o fmech destruction they have in mwll. Ragdoll would also be nice. Mechs sometimes die quietly, sometimes they explode, sometimes ragdoll, sometimes crit. THat should be a minimum. for immersion.

1.Ive always wanted to pilot an Urbanmech (IIC or not), They might be slow, but ever since mech commander 2, ive thought they were sick!
2. Some clan mechs would be awesome! Such as Vulture, Thor, Marauder, Riflemen, Madcat.... etc.
3. Support for Microsoft game controllers! (aka wired xbox 360 controllers). I personally might not use one, but i know many people who just cant part with them!

.................Man i wonder if this will ever be read..................
I had to try though!

2. Urbanmech, Cicada, Commando, Timberwolf + Mad Cat, Vulture/Mad Dog, Jenner and Catapault
3. Customizable cockpits
4. Custom Paintjobs/decals
5. MechWarrior 2: Mercs style MechLab
6. The option to have the Mech limb status HUD display from MW2/MWLL
7. Elementals/Battlesuits eventually!

1) a separate, simple deathmatch mode for the hordes of people who just want to jump in with totally *****-out custom assault monster for some giant robot head-buttery without any RP-ing or consideration for the source material, so longer-term BT fans who have dreamed of a Succession Wars Mechwarrior game can also play the game we want to play

2) purchasables being limited to trophies and faster progress, so grown-ups with jobs and little time for video games can still enjoy the game, and so we don't have the sour grapes revolving around things like "gold rounds" in other F2P games; I think the working grownup demographic is important for both revenue and playerbase quality- I welcome any one to help reduce concentration of ragequitters and trash-talkers, which seem to be overrepresented by angsty teens

3) minimum range mechanics to encourage bracket fire more, for variety and to emphasise this unique aspect of BT (What will my opponent start hitting me with if I try to open up some range? Will it be the stock LRMs, or is there a surprise up that 'mech's sleeve? It hasn't unloaded that AC on me yet, is it because it's empty or because it's been replaced with a PPC?)

Each weapon to have it's own niche in the weapon sandbox, so that all weapons see use.
