Is anyone else having a delay when firing the gauss rifle. Since Patch i am getting a delay when firing the gauss on my Cat. Has this weapon been modified on the 6th March patch?.

Can't say much about the delay, any ballistic has a very, very brief delay to it and I haven't noticed it changing. What I have noticed is the terrible convergence paths (particularly on the Muromets) that they seem to be taking. Maybe I've gotten slightly rusty having not played since the 50/50 weekend (gg bachelor parties) but I really don't think it's my fault that one gauss round goes under the left arm and one goes under the right arm of a light/medium mech running straight at me on level ground.

Nope seemed the same to me I use an Atlas with a Gauss almost all the time. It is my favourite Mech... I did not notice anything different this morning when I got in a few rounds.

It has always had a delay. Congrats on finally noticing it. It means you are improving.

its not just him. ive experienced a bit of delay when firing my gauss rifle after the recent patch. sometimes the muzzle flash goes off but the round and sound get delayed a few milliseconds. im definitely missing a lot more now cos of this.

I've always had it. I run at 40-60ms ping, so it's not a ping issue, but I've found my Gauss Rifles have a delay of around 300-500ms; one that's not terrible but definitely noticeable. None of my other weapons suffer from that.
Also, terrible convergence issues with (ER)PPC's/Gauss at close range, but that's nothing new either.

I've definitely noticed a fire delay on the gauss that wasn't there before. My ping hasn't changed so I don't know what it would be.

ive done a bit of testing on other weapons with bullet travel time and delays and from what ive found out its not just the gauss rifle. all ballistics and ppcs are affected (except machine guns). however i think it only happens to a select few ppl like us cos i havent heard anyone else having the same problem.

nothing new its a oddly old topic.
you have the delay on all weapons that behave like ballistic... since the game started.
to be true it would be complete new learning when the delay is finally removed. good for you new guys.

no it just came with the recent patch. ok maybe i havent explained it quite clearly so i'll try to give the best example ive got.
if u have tried going into the testing grounds u notice that theres no delay when firing ballistics and ppcs cos its an offline mode of the game. everything is instant click instant fire there.
now when u get into an actual match theres a slight delay when firing ballistics and ppcs which i already know and got used to over the months of playing this game like around .1-.2 sec delay.
however, after the recent big march patch another delay has been "added" into those types of weapons. what happens when i click the mouse is instead of the normal .1-.2 sec delay shot that ive gotten used to over the months, what i get is a .1-.2 sec delay muzzle flash only (no bullet fired) and then .3-.5 sec later the bullet fires off the barrel with the sound following it plus a 2nd muzzle flash. weapons that have long cds are heavily affected by this (mainly anything over 2 sec cooldown).
ive asked around in my merc corp and apparently only a few ppl experience this new delay. im not sure if it was a side effect of implementing the new state rewind system but it could be possible.

this issue conserns not only gauss rifle users. Actually I was looking for an answer about PPCs and SRMs (streaks included). In case of SRMs I know that I should open shafts, and in this state missiles are fired immediately while on training grounds. During real match delay is tremendous! It's really like 1,5-2 seconds between click and shot. My ping is usually 125-150ms. Models I'm talking about are CN-A, CN-AL, CTF-1x (PPC delay), CTF-2x.
I think it's something in netcode, and there's hardly anything we can do.
