I think it could use at least 1 more laser hard point...Anyways I have mine set up as close as I can to the Upgrade Version 1 gauss rifle and 2 medium pulse lasers. It does ok I just hang back and try to snipe with the Gauss rifle...the up grade had 1 gauss rifle and 3 Medium Pulse lasers and 1 Medium Pulse laser rear mount but since there no rear mount weapon in MWO it would be just 3 Medium Pulse Laser mybe a missile hard point would be nice becues the 3rd upgrade had 1 Heavy Lager laser and Artemis-LRM20 a hatchet and a shield.

I would give it a missilefist to make up for all its lacks, or stack one energy extra per side torso, for 4 energy total.

It's a pretty terrible mech right now, which I think is a shame for such a cool paintjob.

Yea, but a cheaper standard CN9-A could have a AC/20 as well right? It's arm design is the same isnt it? No cash bonus but +3 missile slots and 5,1 million cheaper.

No, only wang has enough free slots in the arm to take an AC20. We can put some of the clan big UACs in the cent arms later, however.

Shogun Warrior fist would be way cool. Though a couple more energy hardpoints would be okay too.

It needs 2 more laser hardpoints in the sides, or put the lasers in the side torsos. No competitive reason to play it over the Cent-D, which can go faster and use missiles. Having 2 ballistic hardpoints is only useful if you mount double UAC5s, which is nearly pointless as you can no longer fit other important things like 300XL and/or lasers

if melee gets in-game, the Lo-Wang will be awesome. Don't touch it until you're sure melee will/will not be in-game.

Leave it alone, regardless.

I got what I paid for, I like it, don't change it because others didn't pay attention..

One can make an argument that a gauss is usually as good as an AC20, sometimes better. I'm not a huge believer in the fact that an AC20 will last longer under crit hits than a gauss. Statistically, yes. In reality, the arm just tends to fall off entirely.

Therefore, the YLW is a very expensive Centi-A. You're paying for the credit bonus and the paintjob, and you'll soon be able to edit the paintjob.

The agility of the mech is far superior, as is going 100+ kph..

Fully maxed out, the YLW is a close range ninja... just look at the torso twist itself..

At least you have to admire PGI for making an effort not to go the P2W route. They have tried very hard not to. It would have been easy to simply add in special extra hardpoints, bonus module slots, ECM and other things to give the 'hero mechs' a significant bonus without being so overpowered as to actually break the game. They could have even said that due to the fact that they are representing special elite pilots that hero mechs received a 10% damage bonus or some such. Rather they created hero mechs to basically just be another variant, and some variants are more powerful than others, all of the mechs are like that.

Of course the OPs point was to make the YLW more inline with other hero mechs, but it was their first one and their was bound to be a learning curve. I doubt that they are going to want to tweak with it after its already out in the wild (not unless their was a very strong justification for it and personally I don't think that's the case).

Don't bother, it's pointless, your thread will just get flooded by "well I do fine in it! Hit and fade HIT AND FADE".

I can do 900+ damage in a Spider, but does that make it a good mech? Hell no.

I'm still waiting for someone to beat that high score by the way
I don't get why they didn't just give it a missile hardpoint on its shield arm to compensate for no melee, if would make it a truly unique variant, and it wouldn't really be p2w, since the other ballistic cent has 3 missile hard points, you could give the YLW 2 on the arm, and it wouldn't really cause any balance issues due to the weight associated with fitting the AC/20 with anything approximating a decent amount of ammo and armor.

I gotta say, I cant wait for the hero spider, it'll be fun seeing people try to defend that.

8 ballistic point spider in the arms and nothing else?

Name: Crit King
Instead of gaining a cash bonus it ONLY gains a percentage of it's damage done converted to cash.
And with an average of 4 points of damage per MG and match I would laught at it.
