I was digging through an old USB hard drive today and discovered the HeavyMetal TRO for the custom Centurion I piloted during my last CBT tabletop campaign. I was able to recreate it in MW4 Mercs and was pleasantly surprised by its performance. Obviously, I won't be able to recreate it in MWO for a while - the rotary autocannon won't be developed until 3060 - though I suppose I could use an Ultra Autocannon and see how that works out. The fact that I won't have ferro-fibrous armor does mean that I'll be a little skinnier on the armor side, though...

Anyway, here's the TRO. Enjoy picking it apart and telling me how much it sucks. :P

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
==Overview:==
The Centurion was originally designed to compliment the Trebuchet fire
support BattleMech. To allow the Centurion to perform this duty, it was
equipped with a heavy and varied arsenal that allows it to strike at enemy units
at a variety of ranges. The top speed of the Centurion is 64.8 km/h. While this
is slower than the Trebuchet that it guards by 22 km/h, it is capable of keeping
up with most fire support 'Mechs and the Centurion has made a reputation for
itself as a front line combat 'Mech. In order to keep up with demand, Corean
Enterprises licensed the design to Jalastar Aerospace in 3047.

==Capabilities:==
Another one-off variant of the venerable Centurion that first appeared on
Solaris VII, the CN9-X started life as a CN9-D5 built by Corean Enterprises on
New Avalon. Bought from a folding stable, it was modified, removing the C3 slave
unit and MASC. The armor was upgraded to ferro-fibrous and the expensive endo-steel
internal strucure was replaced with one of standard materials as a cost-saving
measure. An additional pair of Diverse Optics extended-range medium lasers was added
to enhance its mid-range firepower and to help reduce the 'Mech's dependence on
ammunition-based weapons. For increased mobility, a set of jump jets were added,
enough to allow it to move just about as fast in the air as it did on the ground.
This model saw some success in the Solaris medium circuit, and limited numbers
of 'Mechs along this design were built and sold to a handful of mercenary groups,
as well as to the AFFS for testing and evaluation.

==Variants:==
One proposed sub-variant, CN9-X2, would remove the 'Mech's ten double heat
sinks for single heat sinks, and then replace the standard myomer bundles with
triple-strength strands to enhance the 'Mech's combat mobility. This has the
significant drawback of making the 'Mech much more susceptible to engine shutdowns
and ammunition explosions.

Not to bad of a design. Depending on how the construction rules work should not be to hard to cross over into MWO. Swap out the Rotary for either an LB 10-X or Ultra/5, ER meds to standard meds, and run 3 Streak 2 launchers to replace Streak 6.

Same here, I've got several 5 subject spiral notebooks full of custom mech and tank designs. Want to get them transferred over to Heavy Metal Pro as they are getting hard to read.
