A between match discussion on TS about the LBX munitions led to an idea. Instead of cluster and slug rounds, what about a muzzle choke like current shotguns employ? A three step toggle controlled from the cockpit that chokes the shot round to tighten spread and opens for close range spread. When full choked is toggled the max range could be reduced, but spread is minimal. Mid choke has med spread and med range, ect. Having the pilot control choke would add a skill element and multiple munitions wouldn't be needed. Hav

Otherwise there could be two modes: Cluster shot and successive shot: The first is like the current, the second shoots all the bullets in an exact straight line (like other autocannons) one at a time over a second (giving about the same result as a large laser).

Hm....

Well, you need to add a poll to this thread, first of all.

Other than that, I think I'd actually support this idea. But I have no idea what type of functionality the devs had in mind when they put the LBX into the game. If they wanted it to only be used to full effectiveness at close range, this idea won't hold water with them.

If, however, they are open to new ideas for the LBX, it might work.

Sorry my post got cutoff, trying to type on stupid iPhone. Doesn't a stream of shells fall under the rotary auto cannon, like the MW3 variant? The spread at max range on current LBX is laughable, almost as ineffective as MG.
