any word on if you will be able to reconnect to the game after a crash or disconnect?

although it would be nice in theory, I can see how if you reconnected as the last player with a fresh mech, and hammered on the hammered last 2 players it would unbalance the match.. So i doubt this would be allowed.. they should work on balancing the match maker first and booting DCs

eh what diff would that make as long as the mech with no pilot stays in game how the heck would it unbalance the match if the whole teams been playing one down?

Because there are plenty of matches where 2 mechs are left tore apart, or are neutered, and if there was a guy who was DisCod suddenly came back and killed the two as a fresh mech, would change the balance and out come of the game.. Mean while if you had been in the match you might of gotten in a 4 mech, Mechacocki and died, or maybe that one laser was enough to win.. Or maybe they are capping the base.. then you join and stop the cap, and that allows your team to catch up and slaughter them when they are on the last bar... Because there are to many variable and ways to Exploit this issue, it should not be allowed.. The REAL issue is the Match should not of been started with one Disco or one Empty slot. And if someone Disco out of the match be it choice or not it sucks for the team, but the show must go on..
And yes i understand your statement and desire to join your mech in battle...However, I understand why this cant happen..
I also understand why more resources on their end should be put to preventing the empty slots and DCS before allowing someone to rejoin a game..

Stoopid/not so stoopid suggestion: What if a dead player could pilot a disconnected mech? Surely this would balance teams who find themselves down one mech due to crashing/disconnection. The payoff could be that you only earn GXP for "subbing" a pilotless mech.

your point is void aurros the teams been fighting 8v7 how is it unfair if the last comes back fresh? he would of started the game fresh anyway and would of impacted the fight to a probable loss to the enemy team had he played. if they are that messed up 8v7 the reconnected mech deserves to win.
the piloting dced mech can be exploited for example if one player in the same team was a better player than the other pilot and he happens to die one folk could dc on purpose and then the better player pick up the mech.

Ive done 4 on 8 and won, ive done 8 on 7 and lost.. When i FINALLy got the game to become stable on my desk top my K/D ratio was 13/117 because i would disconnect after 20 seconds of a match.. SO i understand wanting to connect back into the game.. I also understand why the Devs wont allow it, because of the ability to exploit it, and the obvious complaints about how the match would become unbalanced..
The problem that needs to be addressed first, is makings it 8 vs 8 to start. if Someone is DC before the match started and its say DC, then boot them, replace them.. make it 8 vs 8.. If the Match is empty one slot, Fix the match balancing before starting. If a Person disconnect after that, you probably have a corrupted file, and That too needs to be fixed.. The patcher is bad.. Thats my Point, and its not void..
My other point about being able to exploit it.. is also still valid.. My other point about ... IF they fix the problems causing you to DC, then the thread becomes pointless.. If there is 8 v 8, then reconnecting is not an issue..

sorry dude but most games have the ability to reconnect these days without penalty its a disadvantage to the team fighting one down more than it is a fresh mech sitting at base wow... Its not because of a balance thing, its because of the engine is most like crysis 3 in a default state. its a instant action in and out kind of game there is no reconnect.

You should be able to reconnect. There is no reason not to. If you disconnect and come back five minutes later when the match is almost over, the best you can do is get a survival bonus and a kill or two. It's not like there's an advantage...it behooves you to be in the match to get kills, KAs, component and salvage bonuses and the like. In a way, it would suck to come back late in a match since there might be five enemies still left against little old you.
The only reason I could see for not allowing someone to reconnect is if there were some exploit introduced by the devs that actually benefited you (e.g. if you regained armor points or some other glitch). Plus, with the way the client is, more often than not, the d/c is at the beginning of the match. For me, I can relaunch in a minute so it won't be bad at all for anyone. Fair game for all.

Bump for justice!
Reconnecting to the game is due to loss of session (not quitting the match) is a must. Is this on the list of "to do's"?
