Elite mechs are better than basic mechs; master mechs are better than elite mechs. Why is this not considered in matchmaking?
Let's say I have a mastered mech, and it matches me against the same mech, but with no efficiencies. I have:
15% extra heat dissipation;
45% increased acceleration;
20% greater torso twist;
20% greater maximum heat;
50% greater deceleration;
40% faster torso twist;
30% faster arm movement;
20% greater turn speed;
33% faster S/D & S/U time;
5% shorter weapon cooldowns;
15% weapon convergence;
10% greater max speed;
1 additional module.
In short, my mech is far better, but the matchmaker says we're equal.
I propose that the matchmaker take the 'level' of mech into account when matchmaking. Add a 5-ton penalty to a mech that has all Basic efficiencies, but not all Elite efficiencies, and a 10-ton penalty to mechs with all Elite efficiencies.
Numbers may be changed; the principle of it is what's important. Make the game slightly more fair for new players, and for players with brand new mechs.
