I have made a build in the 10.2 damage per second range in the Smurfy build calculator, but most come in at around 4.5-5.5 on average.

Whats the best your've made?

It seems that Artemis is the thing that really bumps up the DPS on builds. If I could have squeezed Atremis into the Stalker above, watch out!

Now, I am NOT talking about maximal alpha strike, or FIRE POWER ranking in smurfy... I am talking about sustained 'Damage per second'.

That's not really a viable build though

4 tons of ammo for 4 LRM 15s? Nah pretty sure it's viable l2p n00b

The highest number is going to revolve around missiles and false assumptions by the program involving them all hitting.

STK-3H

Instead of 315 use 300 and you have 2 more HS or two more tons of missiles.
OK, missiles in the legs are obvious, yet with XL you have a few but zero options to place it somewhere. Ever since LRMs in side torsos may explode with the engine, but half-used in legs may save you from chain explosions, yet leaving without leg.

CTF-4X

19.68 DPS for almost five whole seconds and then you overheat. It carries enough ammo to fire for almost thirty whole seconds and then you're stuck plinking away with medium lasers and an LRM5. The trick is to wait for modules to come out and then stick a Large Coolant Flush and a Large Ammo Drop on.

"Sustainable DPS: 4.78". That was the stat the OP was looking for.

It's a splatcat. http://mwo.smurfy-ne...6f0f904bcc0b383

Never actually played with an A1 with these configurations. I assume it's OP and will refrain.

Yeah, go look at your stats before and after a match. You'll do some damage, but I think you'll find the accuracy on LRMS to be way lower than you think. I think mine is around 75% and that was from a good match. I've seen the LRMS fail to track to fast targets like they used to. They're more sluggish and it seems like more of them slam into the ground behind than the actual target if it's over 90-100kph or so.

Nice build for the sustained. Splats aren't really OP, they're dead far away and deadly up close. I'd say the ammo count is way too low though. I've been through too many matches where 8 tons o ammo saved my bacon. Plus I don't have heat issues with mine, do these typically run hot? I wish I knew how many matches I've had in mine. Seems like hundreds to me though. I hardly ever run it now because I have enough XP banked that if they do another 2x sale for conversion I've got some I can flip. I'd like to see a hero cat with these hardpoints. Wanna see one with mixed arms (One gun like the K2, one box like the others.)

Yeah. I sold my A1 a long time ago. I ran mine with 11 DHS and artemis. I only carried 7 tons of ammo and rarely ever ran out. It ran pretty hot. 3 alphas shut you down. I think 15 to 16 is much more manageable.

How about some builds that aren't "boats".

Just FYI: the sustained DPS rating on that site is worthless. If you take one of the medium lasers off of your build, it goes up. I notice this on most of the builds that I use, and I can honestly say that intelligent use of your weapons leads to significantly better results than the smurfy number.

Edit: note that when I say take a medium laser off, I don't say add anything else...

Its about the Heatefficiency.

For more Teamplay and survialbility i would suggest this one. http://mwo.smurfy-ne...b5f464b5d1e4b5a The AMS helps your Temamates in your Area as well as yourself at Surviing.

Well, I couldnt be bothered putting in all my heatsinks + whatnot, so I just jammed in my weapons and hoped it was accurate.

I found out my 2 ERLL, AC20, 3 SSRM2 atlas allegedly is on 13.52 sustained dps.

I feel it is much less than that in game...
