when I divide total amount of damage done for a certain weapon (like LRM 10) by the amount of hits the game recognized, the outcome is way lower than the stated damage a single missile should do. is it possible that individual missiles "hit almost only"? LRM should do 1.8, but with my LRM10s and LRM15s fired over a series of games, I get damage as low as 1.3 for hits. I thought hits meant full hits, delivering full damage (I know that lasers are a different thing).

Or is it the crit box model? Or something I just didn't get? same is true for SRM, very different results if you divide total damage done by amount of hits scored...for SRM4 the value goes down to 2.38 (not 2.5) and my SRM6 results are as low as 2.089!!!

I mean, 213 SRM hits should result in 532 (rounde down) points of total damage? No? maybe there are duds

The other thing about LRMs:
what accuracy ratings do you guys have with LRM? I don't get more than barely 30% which is a shame...but it's almost not possible for me to constantly keep a target locked at ranges LRMs were made for... target loss is too fast, even an ally crossing your line of sight will immediately make you loose target lock... the very idea that a long range indirect firing support weapon requires constant direct line of sight target lock is very strange (or that you simply have to get closer to increase your chances...yes! get closer with your long range weapon, ha ha). I know, allies should share their lock with you, but even in a hot brawl targets constantly evade target lock while they move and dodge between buildings... LRMs are deadly in the open, but that's not what they were made for... so are they only effective in good teamplay where Lights do their job and help you locking a target? and in other situations almost useless?

edit: should put the last part in another thread, I'm hiking my own thread here
