I'm not too keen on how the sell and ready feature was taken from the top of a bay slot and now overlays the mech. I keep hitting sell or ready by accident. I'm glad the confirmation window is there or I'd be really upset.

As it is, it's pretty annoying and feels too cluttered. I'm having to constantly cancel sales and such now too. I strongly prefer the old way you had this.

That's my .02! Thanks :)

Awful! Sorry to state this in such a harsh way. The old version was way better! :)
I am always in fear of accentidally selling my mech

You won't since they put in a confirmation, but it's still bloody annoying.

I don't like the new Sell / Ready buttons, too. Please remove these buttons from the area where I select the mech !

I agree. Also the confirmation don't preserves you to sell a mech if you're clicking without really looking to it...

I have not yet accidentally clicked the sell button, but it does give me pause.

If possible, I would prefer an option to turn off the sell button. My Founder mechs cannot be sold. Being able to toggle the sell button on and off for the whole mechbay would be a nice feature.

Then if for some reason we did want to sell one, just toggle selling back on and use the sell buttons that are currently displayed on top of the mech's icon.

Or, better yet, a right click context menu with:

Ready Mech
Select Mech
Configure Mech
Sell Mech

First thing I noticed when I got into the Mech Lab. It's easier to tell apart over the previous version and more separated. Might need to just give folks some time to get used to it. Turning the sell button off would be a nice option for those who keep their Mechs.

Agreed, terrible design. How often are players even selling mechs to give a sell button such a prominent location anyway?

While I like the UI as it is becoming more blingish and not so generic looking. I too liked the old hidden and hover menu for these options. This also looks a little more cluttered.

The old format for selling a mech was way better. It's nice when the buttons are not overlayed on top of your mech, but above and out of the way, giving a nice display of the mech you own so mistakes aren't made on the fly when unselecting or selling.

Hate that sell mech button. The confirmation keeps it from being total disaster but it's poor UI design and poor UX.

Yeah, I don't like that it obscures the miniature picture of the mech for some reason. Makes it feel off somehow.

I saw this and felt it was gimmicky. The thing I've noticed with the UI is that it is becoming "goofier" as time goes on. The patcher looks like a frilly advertisement pane that just happens to have a PLAY button at the bottom. The mechlab is becoming more and more ornamented and cluttered with nonsense. I think this is a side effect of having played since closed beta, with the UI in general having been raw, and somewhat sparse (in a good way) for much of my playing time. It gave the feel of something that served a function, and nothing else. It was something not meant to be pretty or extensively looked at, just something bare bones. As in, all a mechwarrior needs outside of the battlefield. I'm not saying it didn't need improvements to make it more fluid, as it was (and still is) rather clunky. Also, I know it will change and fill out as more aspects are added to the game, but maintaining the feel of being a simple, functional space as opposed to an overly adorned toy shop seems more appropriate (to me anyway).

I like the new system; but, I really hope those icons change. They are sooo bad! They "buy mech" button is also horrible looking.

The whole UI could use a usability study and overhaul to match both players personas and business needs. Heck the whole gaming industry could use the practice to help out. No offense intended... =)

Just so you know, (I'm guessing some of the people who will look at this will already know this) the R&R button was in that popup menu for options. They removed R&R, so the list got sorta small, especially when you already had 4 mechs selected.

But anyway, I sorta like the change. I might be more newb friendly, but I'm not really much of a newb, so I don't know. I understand why it would cause problems, though. Maybe making the buttons smaller and more out of the way would fix it?
